Chapter 2
It was an hour later and Jamie was still wondering why she ran out of Steve’s apartment like that. Jamie knew Steve was worried about her, and she also knew he wanted to help. But, she wasn’t going to let a stranger help her. Jamie got up off the sofa when she heard the door slam shut.
“Jamie!” Jacob yelled.
“Yes?” Jamie said frighted. ‘I wonder if Steve’s listening right now?’ Jamie thought as Jacon was yelling.
“I said answer me bitch!”
“What?”
“What do you mean what?” Jacob said.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t listening.”
“Why didn’t you answer my calls?” Jacob asked with a edge in his voice.
“I guess I didn’t hear my ph-ph-phone go off. I’m sorry.” Jamie said with fear heavy in her voice. Jacob smirked.
“Oh, I know the truth. I stopped by right after work, and I saw you leave his apartment. I believe it’s Steve’s apartment. So, what were you doing there.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jamie said lying, and masking the fear in her voice.
“Don’t lie to me!” Jacob yelled and pushed her against the wall.
“Don’t touch me!” Jamie yelled and pushed Jacob back. For some reason she felt strong that night. Hell, she felt unstopable. Maybe, just maybe that talk with Steve is what she needed to realize what Jacob was doing to her wasn’t okay, or right.
“Don’t tell me what to do!” Jacob yelled before slapping Jamie across the face. Jamie whimpered. Jamie’s face stung deeply. Jamie knew there was probably going to be a bruise on her cheek in the morning.
“I’ll tell you to do whatever the hell I want!” Jamie yelled “I’m a woman and I diserve to be treated with respect.” Jamie said unsure what Jacob’s recation would be.
Jacob chuckled darkly. “You diserve to be in the kitchen.” Jacob said. Jamie’s chocolate brown eyes grew dark, and this time she slapped him. Jacob was surprised, but the slap didn’t seem to phase him.
“You want to try that again?” Jacob asked. Jamie was silent. “Well, do you?” Jacob asked more darkly. Stepping closer to Jamie
“N-n-no.” Jamie said looking at the floor.
“Good, now get out of my sight.” Jamie nodded and left the apartment. When she shut the door, she saw Steve outside his apartment with a worried look on his face.
“Jamie.” Steve said slowly and calmly taking a step towards her.
“Don’t come near me, and don’t ever, ever talk to me again.” Jamie said before running off. Steve sighed. What he heard made him mad, but what made him even more mad was the fact Jamie wasn’t letting him in. Steve watched as she reached the end of the hallway. About a minute later he decided he was going to find her, and talk to her. Whether she liked it or not.
