Carl's P.O.V:

I have followed Jessica for ten minutes now, just to make suree she was ok, and then I turned around. I stepped on a twig and then hid behind a tree.

"If anyone has followed me go back and leave me alone!" she said. Then a walker was behind her back and she turned around. I wasn't going to help her because I wanted to see how she could fight.

The walker pushed her down to the floor and she tried pushing him away with arms on its shoulder. This was getting to out of hand.

I searched my belt for my gun and just as I whipped it out I heard her screaming. Blood was coming out from her hand and I pulled the trigger. I shot the walker right in the head and ran over to her. She was bit. She started closing her eyes.

"Stay awake, don't go to sleep please!" I said. She gave a slight nod and then I picked her up bridal style and carried her to the prison.

When I got there, I ran into Hershel's room and laid her down on the bed.

"Hershel!" I called out. Everyone came and watched while Hershel examined her hand.

"If we want her to live, we have to cut her hand off" he said "are you ok with that Jessica?". She nodded and hershel told us to clear the room.

We all went out of the room and after waiting for an hour, and after hearing a couple of screams, Hershel came out and said she will be alright. I went back inside.

"Are you all right? Does it hurt? I'm sorry for not helping you sooner. I..." I trailed of "This is my fault, I'm sorry..." I said.

"It's ok, but I don't understand. If you hate me, why would you help me?" she replied.

"The truth is, I haven't had a proper friend in years, so I want you to stay so we can be proper friends." I whispered so only she could her it. Her face went from sad to happy.

My dad called my name so I lifted my hat up and down and went to my dad.

I thought about what I said and how I only meant one thing. I want her to stay. But we could never be more then friends...right?..
