Rabid Humanity

The one with the loyalty of a dog
Also had the bite of a wolf
And even when they sunk their teeth into my heart,
I couldn't stop thinking about all the times they mended it.
After all, its human nature to tear apart what scares us.
Even when we're afraid of love itself.
But love was what I craved,
And the other part of human nature is defending what we want.
So I bit back,
It was time for me to mend my own heart,
And stop throwing it to the dogs.
Because you have to fight for yourself when humanity is rabid.
