As I walked into my house, I noticed that it was unusually quiet. This kind of scared me and I didn't know wether I should try to find someone or just go to my room. I was worried so I tried to look for my mom.

"Mom? Are you in here?" I asked rather loudly.

"Oh honey, I'm in here." She slurred

I slowly walked into the kitchen where I heard her voice. There I saw her sitting on the counter top with a bottle of vodka in her hands. I could tell she had been crying because her mascara was running. I could tell that her and my father had been in a fight because she was wearing ripped, dirty old lingerie. Obviously she was really drunk and I had no clue of what she was going to say.

"I saw you get out of that boys car, did he kiss you?" she asked getting off of the counter and started walking towards me.

"Mother, no. He just took me home and you need to stop drinking." I sternly told her taking the bottle from her hands.

"Hey! You don't tell me what I need to do!" She screamed in my face "You can just mind your own business, for Lords sakes!" I could barely breathe from her breath smelling like booze.

"Yeah! Mind my own business when your drinking your life away! Your a really fortunate women because I care enough about you that I try and stop you from drinking!" I step closer and scream louder.

"You know what little girl? Your father just left me and he was the only one who gave a damn about you. I don't care what you do or where you go! So you can care all you want about me" She screams inching herself only inches from my face." but I'll never care about you." she finally whispers in my ear.

I step back taking in what my mother just told me. My mom not caring about me at all? Not wanting to know about my life, if I'm happy, or even what I have as a future. I get lost for words and the only thing I can think about is 'she doesn't care, no one cares. I have no one'

Finally I run out my front door to a bench in my front yard. I sit there and try to take it in. I get up and start walking, walking as far as I can. When I get a couple of blocks away from my house, I feel my phone vibrate in the back of my pocket. Luke's calling me and honestly I don't want to talk to him at the moment. Instead I swipe the 'answer' tap.

"Hello?" I greed Luke.

"Hey, you left a bracelet charm in my car and when I went to give it back to you, I heard some yelling from your house..... are you okay?" He asks me with worry in his tone.

"Yeah, yeah... Everything is fine," I reply trying to keep myself together. Lately I've been rather emotional and I really need to stay strong in my current situation.

"Lucy, no your not fine. I'm coming to pick you up.. Where are you?" He asks me in a demanding voice.

"Luke, stop I'm fine. There's no need to come here." I say standing my ground.

"Stop, just tell me where you are." Luke demanded getting angry.

"Fine... I'm five blocks away from my house. You'll see me walking." I state giving up.

"Okay, I'll be there in about 10 minutes, bye." Luke replies hanging up the phone.

The 10 minutes go by really slow and by the time Luke gets to me, I'm a lot more stable than I was 10 minutes earlier. As he pulls up, he rolls down the window.

"Hey, get in" Luke states in a rather demanding tone.

Without a word, I walk around his car and get in. The smell of cologne is still there and the leather of his seats is cold against my skin. I look over at Luke and he seems a little on edge and I don't know wether I should say something or not. I've heard that he has a really bad and scary temper, so I don't want to set him off.

"Where are we going?" I ask in a quiet tone, scared of his temper.

"My cousins house. But I'm warning you.... Do not talk to or go near my cousins friend Ashton. He's trouble and you don't need to be around that" He tells me not taking his eyes off of the road.
