Chapter 8

LUKES P.O.V.

"What are you thinking about?" Lucy askes taking a drink from her Tea.

I'm a little torn between telling her that I'm thinking about all the screwed up mistakes I've made and how I will probably screw her up too or that I'm not really thinking about anything.

"Nothing, really.... I'm just thinking about what I am going to get to eat," I lie trying to change the subject and attention away from me.

The lighting back here sucks and I can't really see Lucy's face. I can a little bit when the large tv screens turn on a commercial. I shouldn't have asked to be sat back here, but I didn't want these men close to Lucy. The last time I brought a pretty girl here, I left alone and she left with some 50 year old pervert.

"I'm actually not as hungry as I thought I was so I think that I am just going to get a small order of chili cheese fries." Lucy says scanning the menu, not looking up to me.

"Do you want to get a large order and just share them with me?" I reply looking around to see Sunshine slowly taking her time over to us.

"Yeah that sounds good" Her voice getting quieter as Sunshine gets closer. I think its cute how she gets intimated by girls that have absolutely nothing on her. I bet if I asked every man in here, they would go for Lucy and not this other piece of trash.

"What do you want to eat?" Sunshine asks rather rudely standing way to close to me. I scoot over a little bit because Sunshine is looking over my shoulder and I am 5 seconds away from calling her out on it.

LUCY'S P.O.V.

"Yeah that sounds good" I say slowly getting quieter as I see Sunshine walking up here. She is so intimidating and I'm a little scared of what she's capable of.

"What do you want to eat?" Sunshine asks getting closer to Luke. I'm glad that he isn't feeding into her behavior and he scoots down the booth. Sunshine is literally looking over his shoulder and if I had the confidence I would call her out on it. I am actually a little surprised Luke has been so calm, from what I've heard he's a bit crazy.

"A large order of chili cheese fries" Luke says grabbing my hand, obviously trying to get a rise out of Sunshine. She rolls her eyes and walks away. I watch her as she walks to the kitchen and "secretly" watches us.

"I need to use the restroom, do you know where it is?" I ask getting up from the booth.

"Yeah, its down that hall straight across the room, see it?" Luke asks and I nod. "Hey, wait.. Be careful. The men here will do everything and anything to get you to go home with them." He quietly adds.

"I'll be fine. They won't even notice when I am walking by" I tell him with a giggle and leave.

As I walk away I make eye contact with Sunshine and she gives me a cold smile. Gosh, I don't like people like her or in fact anyone here. The men smell so badly of alcohol and cigarettes that I can nearly have to plug my nose as I walk by.

When I walk into the bathroom I see two girls leaning near the mirror to put on lipstick. Both of them had huge hair and short dresses. You'd think that they would wait until later tonight to come out of hiding, but I guess they like to start early. The bathroom was written all over and was very dirty.As I went into the only stall available I see that someone doesn't understand how to flush a toilet, so I do. I grab some toilet paper and cover the seat, clearly it hadn't been cleaned for a long while. When I flush the toilet I over here some girls talking.

"Man, I was so wasted last night that I don't even remember who I was with..."

I walk out of the stall and over to think sink to wash my hands. I am not even sure why though because It will do no good. My hands will get dirty again in a matter of seconds in this rot hole. When I push the soap dispenser I find that there is no soap in the container...I'm not even surprised. I immedialty walk of the small space, not giving eachother the girls a look.

LUKES P.O.V.

"Well, well, well where did the prudish girlfriend of yours go?" I look up to see sunshine hovering over me again. Damn this girl needs to learn personal space. Granted that she works here I'm sure she was never taught of such thing.

"What do you want? Because I am really not interested in any of your games." I bite back rather harshly. I can't control my being when I am around people like her. I mean damn she's really annoying and for some reason I am really on edge today.

"Come on, I know boys like you love girls like me. We could just leave here and you'd never have to tell her that you were with me. You could tell her that you had some sort of thing to go to," She slowly begins to rub my arm and shoulder. Her touch isn't as rough as I thought but I wasn't interested.

"That sounds like a good offer but I am going to have to pass, guys like me actually don't love whores like you," I say turning my head and seeing Lucy come out of the bathroom with her head facing the floor. " I'd love to stay and chat but I have a beautiful girl waiting for me," I get up with a smirk and walk away.

As I am walking towards Lucy, I feel my phone vibrate and see Tyler's name pop up on the screen. I open the message to read "Hey I am having a party here tonight, bring your lady and we could have a good night ;)" Before I answer I want to ask Lucy first, if she doesn't want to go then we can go back to her house or whatever.

"Hey... uhhh.. my cousin, Tyler, is having a party tonight.. Do you want to go? If you don't because we have school tomorrow then I totally understand and we could do something else.." I say well more like stutter. I really don't want to screw up this relationship. Lucy has this thing about her, a fire. A fire that is burning and is almost out. Even though I don't know her well, I can tell that the weight of her parents, school, and life in general is tiring her out. I don't want to be added to that list, but I want to bring that fire back to life. I want to show her things that every 17 year old girl should see and feel. I want to be the one that protects her and that will fight for that fire inside of her. Because if I didn't care about her the way that I do, I wouldn't have stopped Victoria or Sunshine. I would've left with them and never have looked back on Lucy.

"Yeah, that sounds cool... If I am being honest.. I've never been to a party before and I am sure that you can show me a good first party"

"I can, but let me warn you.. Ashton will be there with his friends and there will be alcohol because Tyler is 21 and there will most likely be drugs.. are you okay with that?" I hesistantly ask getting into my car and putting on my seat belt.

"Well yeah its okay because I would probably never drink or get high anyway..." Lucy answers while putting on her seat belt as well.

Oh if she only knew what type of person Tyler is. Tyler is the type of person that you can't say no to. No matter how hard you try, you just cant. He uses mind games and gets you to drink and smoke. Yeah, Lucy might have it in her mind that she won't do any of those things but she will and I'm not that worried about it. I can control her and I can make sure that she won't be terribly hungover for school the next morning. I guess I am lucky because I've known Tyler my entire life and I always know what he is thinking. It can be an advantage and a disadvantage.
