It was a cloudy day on November 27 of 2001. It wasn't raining nonstop or was completely dark and gloomy, but it may as well been so. Down at the local cemetery, people dressed in black attire all had sorrowful looks on their faces and stood together as the sermon delivered a speech to honor the deaths that had occurred only a couple of days ago.

"We are all here to honor the lives of Noah Stilinski and Claudia Stilinski. Both two beautiful souls who protected the people of this town. Noah Stilinski, or as most of you may know him as the sherif had done good in his position. Claudia was a hardworking nurse who..." The sermon solemnly explained. A boy in an uncomfortable dress shirt and pants was staring at the coffins in front of him, barely listening to what the man was saying. The boy was Stiles Stilinski, the young son of Noah and Claudia.

He was holding his special stuffed wolf, the one his mother gave him for his last birthday. He clutched it tightly, burying his face in it. Remnants of her smell still lingered on it, and for a second he thought that maybe if he squeezed it tightly enough his parents would come back. That they wouldn't be lying still in those horrid coffins.

The sermon's speech went on for what seemed like hours, until it ended and everyone mingled with one another, giving comfort and crying on each other's shoulders. Some of the attendants gave Stiles a shoulder squeeze as they passed by and a couple of 'I'm sorry for your loss, kid's, which he only acknowledged with a nod.

He walked over to his mother and fathers coffins, which were opened. Claudia's beautiful face looked peaceful, as if she was just sleeping. Noah's face was in a similar state. Stiles reached over to feel his heartbeat. Tears formed at the corner of his eyes when he felt nothing, not even a slightly beat. "Mama...papa...come back. Please..." he pleaded.

Suddenly there was a firm hand on his shoulder. This one was different than the others. young Stiles slowly looked up, blinking away tears to see who it was. He was staring into the sad eyes of his uncle. His uncle bent down to his level and opened out his arms. Stiles shoved his face in his uncle's chest, openly sobbing at that point. His uncle wrapped his arms around his small frame, running his hands up and down his back for comfort. His suit was getting damp with tears, but he couldn't find it in himself to care.

"It's okay...I'm here buddy." Stiles slightly pulled away only to see his uncle's face. "Uncle Chris, I didn't see you come! I thought you left too." Stiles sounded to broken that it physically hurt Chris to see his nephew like this. He loved the kid like his own son, and seeing him in a state a child should never be in made him feel a bit of anger that Noah and Claudia had to die.

"I'd never leave you kiddo." he softly reassured. Stiles sniffled and wiped his leftover tears with his sleeve. "Is Allison and Aunt Vicky here?"

Chris nodded over his shoulder and Stiles looked behind him. Victoria was holding Allison's hand while greeting people nearby. Allison jumped up and down and seemed to be looking for something or someone. She soon spotted Stiles and a bright smile broke out on her face. Stiles pulled away from his uncle's arms and ran over to Allison.

"Stiles!"

Chris walked over to Victoria's side who was watching the two smile and hug each other. Victoria sighed and smiled gently at the scene. "Poor baby. What should we do?" she asked her husband.

Chris pursed his lips and glanced back at his daughter and nephew. "What we have to."
