Ok, so basically forget all of chapter 8 from before. Here is the new and improved.
I awoke to loud, blaring sounds and yelling. My head pounded and my fingers and toes were numb. I opened my eyes and I was immediately bombarded with bright and flashing lights, all over the place. I stared wide-eyed at my surroundings.
Large brick-like buildings stood everywhere. Lights were on every building. People crowded everywhere, and some of them were yelling.
Moving yellow things with circle things on the bottoms of them were everywhere as well. Don't ask me how everything was everywhere at the same time, but it was.
I noticed I was on the ground, dressed completely different. My white tattered clothing had turned into a yellow top along with what I think are called boo jeans? No, blue jeans. Yes. That's what they are.
My head still hurt, and the lights helped none. My toes were no longer numb, but I had yet to gain feeling in my fingers.
"Get out of the way!"
"I'm walking here!"
"Hey, watch it!"
"Taxi!"
These people called out the most random things.
Umm sir, who are you talking to?
Walking where?
Watch what? Be more specific please!
.... What?
I don't think I understand.
I pushed myself off the ground, finally gaining feeling in the rest of my body. I marveled at the fact that no one, no one had wings! They were grounded! They all walked everywhere! I could never- wait. My wings. I didn't feel th- AH! NO! What?! No!
I was freaking out. To the point where I was screaming but nothing was coming out. Losing your wings is like a human losing both of their legs. It's that serious.
"Honey, are you alright? You look as if you've seen a ghost." I looked up at the woman and nodded, my mind still scrambled.
"Are you sure? Goodness! You're filthy!"
I shook my head and plastered on a smile. "Yeah, yeah I'm good. I think... Where, where am I.. exactly..?
The woman looked confused with her eyebrows scrunched. "New York City, probably the most known city in the country..."
"Oh yes, of course! Umm, duh!" I tried to blend in as best I could. I'd rather not have everyone knowing I'm a Light Angel with wings that's not even from this planet. That'd be fun to explain.
I heard a gasp as the woman's hand went to my forehead.
Darn.
"What in Heaven's name happened to you, girl?"
"Ha.. that? Oh I just.. I fell... on a... rock?" More like a rock probably fell on me. I must not have felt it because I was so rushed to escape. Thats really coming back to haunt me.
"Let me help you, dear. That cut looks really deep."
"Oh, I really should be getting.. going to.... doing something..."
"Oh stop, let me help. Here, my apartment is just down the block."
I looked around for any kind of escape, but then I realized. This lady wouldn't try to do anything. Even if she did, I've had years of training to fight of Darks. Some old human lady wouldn't even compare.
I nodded and let her lead me onto the concrete. We started walking towards a very tall building with a large light screen-looking thing that kept changing colors.
During the short walk, the lady was very quiet. But once we made it to her living space, she just couldn't stop asking questions. How did you get here? What's the last thing you remember? How old are you? Do you know where your family is? Questions like that.
I answered with simple answers and shrugged a couple of times. I couldn't exactly tell her I was an angel, as I said before.
The lady, whose name I've learned to be Eleanor, put a bandage on the cut on my head, let me clean up in what she called a shower. We just called it a bath, but whatever works for her I guess. She also gave me some fresh clothes to change into that didn't smell like poo. I must say, it felt weird changing without wings. It's easier, but weird.
We sat at her couch and talked about how I could stay with her until I found my family. She preferred not going to their police station here because they never did anything to help anyone...which I completely understand. The guards, which I've learned to be pretty similar to the police, were never much help for anyone except for the royals.
I ended up sleeping on the couch with a really fluffy blanket. I was amazed at the fluffiness, so I had to add that. It was, like, super fluffy. Anywho, back to the topic...
Eleanor told me that tomorrow morning she would take me down to the school and see if she could enroll me. I went along with her whole idea of since I was
