"Hey, Sheila." John said sympathetically as he leaned on my desk.

"Hey John..."

"I'm sorry, for what Paul did. He's a real jerk."

I looked up at him and smiled to try and fool him into thinking I was fine, but deep down inside he knew it was all just an act.

"It's okay John, really. He didn't know." I shrugged. He only rolled his eyes as the bell rung then went to his seat as the class started.

I was silent throughout the whole class unless someone asked me something, which wasn't unusual since I didn't really talk to anyone. But I just couldn't stop thinking about last night even if I tried. I want to get over him, I really do.

"You're still going to be with us at lunch right?" John whispered as he passed by me on his way to turn in his test.

"I don't know John..." I shrugged as he passed by on his way to his seat, I heard him sigh as he sat back down. I slouched as I looked down at my test, I haven't even made it past the 5th question. Then to my luck the bell rang to go to the next class.

"Shit" I whispered, making the girl next to me laugh a bit as she peeked over at my unfinished test.

Everyone grew loud as they threw their papers on Mr. Riley's desk and hurried out the door.

Mr. Riley was too busy distracted by another student, maybe if I'm fast enough he wouldn't notice I only finished 3 questions.

"Okay see you on Monday Brianne," Shit shit shit"I thought as I walked faster, in hopes he wouldn't catch me, "Sheila?..." Great

"Hey, Mr. Riley..."

"Where's the rest of your test?"

"I- I umm..."

He cleared his throat, "How about you come back at lunch and maybe I'll let you retake the test, sound good?" Then coughed into his sleeve.

"Umm, yeah, okay thanks..." I said as I backed away from the desk and paced out the door with my head down.

"Jeez what took you so long!" John scoffed when I bumped into him.

"Well sooorry, Mr. Riley caught my not even half done test and now he wants me to stay in at lunch to finish it!"

"Ha ha loser." He laughed.

"Shut up!" I pushed him a bit then laughed along.

"Have fun taking that test!" He said then headed off to his next class

It was lunch and I was slowly heading to Mr. Riley's class until I saw Paul. Just what I needed I thought then looked down and almost took off running if it wasn't for all the people in the halls, Move! Move it!

There were so many people in the hall I was starting to get a little nervous but relieved that Paul wouldn't be able to see me. Just when I thought the horde was over I bumped head and shoulders first into a large, strong figure.

"Hey watch it!" A random voice grunted then grabbed my arm, saving me from falling backwards.

"I have got to stop doing that!" I thought out loud, "I'm really sorry." I looked up and realised it was Roy.

"Hey it's fine, Sheila, right?" I nodded, "Next time watch where you're going." He winked, making me smile then walked away.

"Oh good you're here." Mr. Riley said taking a second look at me then got up and set my unfinished test on a small desk in front of him. I walked over, sat down, grabbed a pencil out of my bag then silently started my test.

"Are you okay?"

"Huh? Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

"Because you were quiet the whole class today, you didn't even talk to your friend John, is there something bothering you?"

"Oh... yeah just... tired, that's all."

He didn't say another word the rest of the time I was there, just coughed and sneezed until I finally had enough of it and guessed the rest of the questions.

"All done?" He said not even looking at me.

"Yup! See ya Monday." I put the paper on my desk then stormed out to my locker.

"Hey." A quiet voice came from behind me. I looked over my shoulder only to see Paul standing there all innocent like.

"Hi."

"What are you doing?" He leaned next to my locker. I didn't say anything, just shrugged, I wasn't really in the mood to talk to him right now.

"Are you mad at me?" I shrugged again, "look, for whatever I did, I'm so sorry I really am Shei." I looked over at him and nodded making him sigh and slouch a bit.

"Wanna come over later?" I asked him, making him smile in relief.
