Normally Freddy would take children to the power plant to kill them, but as he looked at me in the backseat he found that he couldn't bring himself to take me there. There was something different about me. I reminded him of a younger version of himself, constantly being picked on by my peers and forced to live with an abusive Foster/ "so called adopted family."

As we drove further away from the playground in silence I began to get nervous. Where was this man taking me. I could see the delight in his eyes at the scared look on my face. "Awe Princess, your not scared of me are you? I thought you trusted me." Freddy said pouting.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad." I replied tearfully and Freddy smiled.

"That's alright Kitten. You said you ran away because your foster parents were arguing about not wanting you anymore right?"

"Yes."

"I can tell that you don't want to go back into the system and have to move again."

"No one wants a freak like me." I replied wiping the tears away from my eyes. "Do you have a mommy and daddy?"

Freddy's face went dark and a snarl curled his lips. "That is none of your concern."

I shrank back into my seat and tried to make myself as small as I possibly could. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry and make you angry. I just want to get to know you better."

I replied tearfully letting out a small whimper. It was obvious that I had brought up a subject that made him extremely angry and that scared me. I started to feel sleepy but I didn't want to make him upset with me so I struggled to stay awake.

Freddy could tell that I was scared of upsetting him. Now normally that's a look he loved to see in a child's eyes, but again for some reason, seeing me feeling afraid, bothered him and his face softened.

"I'm sorry Kitten, I shouldn't have gotten so upset. The truth is my past is not a subject that I like to talk about. My mother never saw me as her son. She only saw me as a curse. She never loved me and I doubt that she ever will." Freddy replied with a sigh.

"She doesn't sound like a very good mommy. Mommies & daddies are supposed to always love you no matter what."

Freddy sighed "yes, parents are supposed to love their children. I suppose it was because of the circumstances of my birth that my mother has chosen to treat me the way she does. However, that is a subject that you are far to young for. Just know that mother is not a subject that I like discussing."

"I'm sorry that I brought up such painful memories. I hope that I don't ever meet that mean lady. She's wrong. Your not a curse you is a nice man." I replied with a yawn.

At this, Freddy chuckled in amusement. He had managed to make me hate his mother in only a few words. He could tell that I was tired but was fighting to stay awake as quietly he turned on his radio and smiled as I finally drifted off to sleep.

Upon arriving at the house Freddy gently shook my shoulder startling me awake and instantly I began to cry. Where was I? Who was this strange man? What did he want with me? "Shhh little one. It's ok. Daddy's sorry he scared you but it's time to wake up."

I looked up at Freddy completely confused. Did he just say daddy? He wasn't my daddy, was he? I whimpered as he removed my seat buckle and gently took me out of the car seat.
I looked up to see a beautiful home he smiled at the curious look on my face . "Do you live here all by yourself?" I asked my eyes wide with wonder.

"I have for a long time but now that I have you I won't have to feel sad or lonely ever again and neither will you."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
