•You'll hear things quietly following you, hidden in the trees by your sides. It's okay, they're just checking on youI finally arose from this repulsive nightmare, I glared at the thorns that once entrapped me. I sighed in relief.
If I had known what I would have got into would I have went into the woods?
I shakily made my way to my feet, the floor swayed below me.
It was an endless cycle of events, I feel uplifted then I'm pulled to the earth, burning and bringing my dignity with me.
The beetles had left, my only companion was gone.
I truly felt alone.
I walked and I walked.
Through the crooked trees, past the bubbling brook. I stopped to wash off the red impurity from my skin.
The cuts were irritated and I knew with the amount of bacteria I wouldn't make it out of here healthy.
I'm going to make it home before I die.
Great thought, I'm going to write it down.
No matter what I went through this journal seems to stay intact through my perils.
The pages never tattered, they stayed crisp no matter what I went through.
The spine was un-cracked, it stayed as straight as a ruler.
The cover was as pristine as ever, except for the few trophies I placed on it.
A few pictures of prized medals, a picture of my family and a few blood stains...
I may skip the back story on that one item.
I walked a few more metres until something but me slightly... on edge.
I didn't think I would be disgruntled after what happened to me.
But this was different, it was something living.
It was a twig snap, and I didn't think the animal meant to either, the air went deadly silent around me.
My eyes circled the perimeter of my vision, they darted between trees and behind hedges, but there was nothing.
Then I saw a thin pair of beady red eyes.
My breath hitched.
It watched me intently, its bright red eyes burning a hole into my forehead.
I was about to attack until I remembered the warning I wrote to myself after I escaped the killer vines.
"It's friendly, It's friendly". I told myself. It won't attack me surely.
It won't attack, unless it finds a reason too, and there is a reason there, deep down in your heart.
It's the voice again, and now it's plan is unraveling, lure me into the woods, unleash my deathly secret and have the woods swallow me up and claim me as theirs.
I'm sorry...
