The very attractive Alex Pettyfer (dayumm!) as Chandler Patton on the side! :D
“Mom that’s NOT fair!” I pleaded, following her into the penthouse as she threw off her shoes and slumped on the couch. “Why? Why now? Senior year of all years!”
My mom ignored me as she picked up the phone and dialed Ryker’s number who just so happens to live on the floor below us.
“Ryker? Yes, did you register Teegan yet? Oh, okay, I see. Thanks.”
She hung up and looked at me. “Tee, we registered you a while ago, like I said, education comes first in this household.”
I resisted the urge to stomp my foot like a child. “Mom,” I pleaded slowly. “Why? I keep up in all my studies! I’m studying material at a college level! I’m already committed to Notre Dame! Why are you sending me back?!”
“To finish your high school career,” she answered swiftly, “To have a normal senior year.”
“It won’t be normal,” I argued stiffly. “Everyone’s going to treat me differently cause of the fame. They’ll ask for autographs and premiere tickets and I’ll get special treatment!”
“Tee.” My mom got up from the couch and frowned. “What’s done is done. Ryker registered you two weeks ago.”
“Mom!”
“Teegan! Don’t make me regret letting you leave school freshman year to pursue your dreams! Don’t make me regret leaving dad in the hospital!” She stated sharply.
I winced as if she had slapped me in the face, she made it seem like it was my fault dad died.
“I’m sorry you had to leave dad for me,” I mutter coldly as I trudged to my room.
I closed my eyes as I flopped onto my bed. It smelled mostly the same, only more muskier. My room looked exactly like how I left it two years ago, plain and simple, the complete opposite of me. I was now loud, colorful, and insane. My room was for the old Teegan Hastings, not the one right now.
There was a light rap on my door. “No!” I yelled into my pillow, my command muffled by the fabric.
“Teeg.” Ryker popped his head into the doorway, “It’s me.”
I sat up and hugged the pillow to my chest as he came in and sat on the edge of my bed. “What?”
“Your mom didn’t mean what she sai-”
“Yes she did,” I interrupted. “She meant every bit of it! Because of me, she left my dad at the hospital to fly to LA. Because of me, she didn’t get the chance to spend the remainder of his life with him.”
“You know that isn’t true,” Ryker whispered as he patted my hand. “Your dad wanted her to go, he wanted you to be successful. And that’ s why I’m here, to make sure his dream for you comes true.”
I nodded, sniffing and drying my pathetic tears.
“So you’ll be meeting with Landon Copely next week to discuss song ideas okay? You’ll also be going to school to keep up the whole ‘I’m a superstar but I’m also an everyday girl’ kind of image.”
I shrugged, “Okay.”
“Alrightly, go call some friends, get connected with some cliques, get involved in sports. You’re now an everyday teen!”
I scoffed, everyday teen my butt! I scrolled through the contacts on my phone, I haven’t spoken to my friends since leaving Brookstone High two years ago, freshman year. I was going to be the new kid. I was going to be a loner.
