How It Starts (Louis Tomlinson)

Chapter 15

I pull into the familiar yet unfamiliar driveway. I never come here because it never makes any sense to. I actually don't understand why we have it anymore. My parents drive the extra miles to be sure they see me either before I leave for school or go to bed at night.

"This is really nice, Anna." Liam says

"Yeah, thanks a lot." Niall says after.

I turn off the ignition and we all step out. Seconds later Louis pulls in behind me. He seems calm enough considering what I saw in the rearview mirror. Harry looks frustrated and that's about as close as I can get in a guess. I don't know him well enough to be more accurate.

"Is this it?" Louis stares up at the second floor window.

"No, she brought us to a random house for funzies." Harry says sarcastically. If I didn't sense an undertone in it I would have laughed. This is the perfect opportunity to ask what's going on.

"What's up with you two?" I ask and squint at the two men.

"What are you talking about?" Harry starts.

"Nothing's wrong." Louis finishes. It sounds like a routine answer.

"Come on Anna, let's go in. Do you guys have any food?" Asia interrupts the conversation. I notice that all of the other boys have started following her and Harry and Louis have stayed back with me.

"Umm, I think my mom had it stocked when we asked her if you guys could use it. Kind of like a welcome thing. It's only for this one time though. You're going to have to stock it yourself next time." Harry follows after us. I unlock the door and everyone files in.

When the boys disperse to pick their bedrooms I go through the cabinets to find something to eat. There's poptarts in the cabinet so I put the box on the counter.

Louis startled me when he wraps his arms around my waist.

"Thank you, baby. You're the most beautiful and bestest girlfriend a boy could have." I turn in his arms to face him and we kiss. It's long and nice. Shortly in the kiss I feel watched. When I break from Louis I turn to find Harry in the doorway.

He's watching Louis with a clenched jaw and tense eyes. When he notices me staring back he disappears from the doorway.

"What was that all about?" I turn to ask Louis. "Did you break a pact or something?" I ask playfully.

He laughs a little but it sounds forced. I let it pass.

The other boys all tell me thank you and how much they enjoy their rooms. I don't see Harry again for the rest of the morning and by eleven Asia and I say goodbye with promises to come back for dinner.
