"How could they not notice?! Those stupid villagers, they couldn't even notice an oni if it was right in front of them!" Akai exclaimed. She had worked very hard at keeping the oni away, she had used her protective fire barrier spell, as well as diminishing their numbers with her sword of fire. She just couldn't understand how the oni broke through the fire barrier! She had used all her powers and her most advanced spell to cast it, yet one broke through! "They must be smarter than I realized... Shoot!" Akai vehemently exclaimed. She would have to go so some research in her library. In fact, she spent the next few days in the library, sleeping on the library couch and eating what she brought with her.

However, the oni lord was doing the same thing... He was researching the nameless barrier that the girl cast on him and his forces. He was the nefarious Orochi, the snake oni. He had figured out the name of the spell in two weeks of studying and yelling at his servants. "The fire barrier... " he mumbled to himself. "Interesting, it can only be used with the sword of fire and the immense magical reserves of the Senshis... "

Akai was tired. She was tired from lack of sleep, and she was tired of all the bumbling oni scouts trying hopelessly to track her and to gather information on her. Fortunately, she either killed or interrogated the oni. She had found out that the oni base was at the foot of Mount Yari and not much else. "This is hopeless! I'll never get anywhere with this!" She drop-kicked a heavy book across the room and ended up with a stubbed toe. "Ugh." she said.

The boy knew he saw an ugly, troll-ish creature running into the pine forest... He just didn't know what it was. He remembered a tale the village elder taught him about the troll spirits, or oni. He went to the library and researched the oni. He recalled the oni who took the elder away, and he remembered that the oni who took the elder away was red and black, and had one eye. Wait... One eye? "It was Onihitokuchi! Onihitokuchi took Kiiro Yari!" exclaimed the young boy! The young boy had short silver hair and soft blue eyes. He was a kind person, but he was a hunter. He hunted only what he needed to, even though he had great skill. He was Shizukana Ryoshi of the Ryoshi family, a family of good hunters. He wore blue-gray clothes and always had his silver bow and a quiver full of blue fletched arrows.
