Akai was still asleep when the oni crept to the door. A book falling was what woke her with a start, and she promptly grabbed her katana. SHe tiptoed to the door where she stuck her sword through the door and killed an oni scout. "That was close! Too close... Maybe the oni DID learn something!" Akai noted. She placed mirrors all around the house and went back to the library to study. She came across a dusty old book titled "Booke of Fyre Spells for the Young Mage." She opened it, thinking, "This is exactly what I'm searching for!" She came across a ripped page and paid no heed except for when she saw the dark red writing. She leaned closer and read the title: Arrows of Fire. This was perfect for her next master spell. It didn't look to complicated, so she memorized the page and started to train. She brought food outside and hunted what she could, because her next few days were spent mastering Arrows of Fire. On day three, she was tired and panting but she had mastered the spell. She rejoiced inwardly and limped inside to make some food and sleep. Meanwhile, the village was in distress...

The villagers did not know what to do about the missing elder, so they elected a new one. His name was Chimamire no Ken. He was not as wise, nor as happy as the Kiiro Yari, but he would do for now. The villagers moved on to the next problem, what it was they saw running into the forest. Several young children recalled the stories of Kiiro Yari, and they were shrieking, "The oni! The oni! They are coming for us!" The adults thought it was a person in the village, and so they were arguing. Shizukana then pointed out that there was nobody missing except Kiiro, and he wouldn't do that to himself. The villagers knew he was right, so they created fences and walls to keep others out. Shizukana knew that it was the oni though... He decided to side with the children and he pointed out that the oni left a drop of blood, meaning Kiiro put up a fight. He also stated that If the blood was green, it would be an oni who took Kiiro away. The children believed and a few adults believed at first. THe other adults said that it was nonsense, and that oni didn't exist. The adults who believed said that children's minds could not be corrupted by wrong answers until they reached coming of age, due to Kiiro Yari's ancestor's protective spell. The other adults soon realized that oni were real, and that it was indeed a big problem. The adults thought of the girl who was always practicing by the forest. Kowai Hito, one of the villagers said that the oni ran to the forest, where the girl lived. He also said frantically that it was the girl and the villagers should kill her. A few of the villagers agreed, but not many.

"Drat! That boy told them and now they believe we are real! Now they will see us as we are! " said Ryuketsu, the lead scout for the oni. He told the warrior in chief and they coordinated an attack. They were ready.
