Gigi hugs her mother.
It had been a few weeks since she last seen her.
She had missed spending time with her mom.
"Where's Zayn?"
"He went out with the a couple of his friends. He'll be back later."
Yolanda nods.
"How is everything?"
"They're great. I feel like Zayn truly wants to be in a committed relationship."
"That's great honey! Zayn seems like a really sweet boy. You two fit well together."
Gigi just nods.
She still couldn't shake this feeling in her gut.
She feels like Zayn's secret is bigger than she assumed.
Zayn's been more secretive about certain shit.
He won't talk to her about what happened between his old band mates.
She starting to think that whatever relationship he was in while with Perrie also screwed up his relationship with his former mates.
Maybe it was Eleanor?
Maybe Sophia?
Fuck she hoped it wasn't Taylor.
"Gigi?"
Gigi snapped out of her trance.
"Sorry mom."
"What's the matter baby?"
Yolanda frowned.
"Has daddy ever- has dad ever dated one of your best friends before you?"
Yolanda eyes widened.
"I can't say that he has. Why'd you ask?"
"Because Zayn- Zayn was seeing someone before Perrie. He was still seeing this said person while with Perrie. And- well the other night we were at Kenny's house. Harry came over, Zayn's ex band mate. He left as soon as I said he was on his way. I'm starting to think maybe that's why Zayn left the band. Maybe he was dating Taylor and Harry didn't know about it? I don't know mommy. I'm scared."
Yolanda grabs her daughters hand.
"Baby. I doubt Zayn was seeing Taylor. It's probably just a misunderstanding. And so what if he did? He's with you now. And it seems like he and Taylor are getting along now if so. You have nothing to worry about."
Gigi nods.
Her mother was right.
Whoever this other girl was she didn't care.
She only cared about Zayn.
He was finally giving her the love she always wanted.

"Yolanda? I didn't know you were coming."
Zayn smiled and hugged her.
"Just thought I should pay my daughter and son in law a visit."
Zayn smiled.
"Well I'm glad you did. I missed seeing your beautiful face around the house."
"Oh stop. You already gained enough brownie points."
Zayn just laughs.
"Are you staying for dinner?"
"If that's alright with you?"
Zayn just shrugs.
"I don't mind at all. Where's Gi?"
"She's in the bedroom."
Zayn just nods before walking to his shared bedroom with Gigi.
"Hey beautiful."
Gigi smiles.
"Hey babe."
Zayn noticed her huge smile.
"What are you all happy about."
"Well I was looking for my wallet. And I've come across something more important."
She held a tiny red velvet box in her hand.
Zayn froze.
Fuck I'm screwed. He thought to himself.
"Is this what I think it is?"
Zayn just nods.
He had to pull this off.
"Yeah. But I need to get it resize. It's- it's a family ring."
Gigi just squeals.
"I can't believe this! Are you serious Zayn?"
Zayn can't believe she found this.
It wasn't meant to be for anyone but-
Shit he's not ready for another engagement.
And why the fuck does he still have that ring?
He should have took the dumb thing back.
He was never going to use it anyway.
But Zayn knew deep down he didn't take it back because he was scared that it'll be completely over.
Deep down he never wanted things to end between the two.
"Well, aren't you going to ask me properly?"

He had to fight off his thoughts.
If he didn't Gigi would know something was up.
But he also didn't want to have to deal with this ending in a failure.

Zayn got down on one knee.
