It was the usual evening, Robin was out with his team. He was looking over the edge of a building and spotted a cute boy walking with his presumably girlfriend. It wasn't sundown yet so they were probably out for a nice walk before they locked all the doors and prayed they weren't the next victims of a psychopath. M'gann set up the mind-link at the exact wrong time. "Damn he's hella cute," Robin thought. Everyone turned and stared at him.
"Erm Rob, we heard that," Kid Flash informed him. He whipped around and blushed bright red. "I erm, it's just a compliment?" Yeah like that would work. "
You're gay?" Aqualad asked. Robin blushed harder.
"I'm bi, I like both. Oh god this is embarrassing," he answered.
"Not really, it's just funny that it got out on a mission. How long have you been bi?" Artemis asked."Two years..." The team's jaws dropped. "
You never told us! I've known you for years Rob!" Kid Flash exclaimed.
"You guys are the only ones who know now," Robin admitted, fiddling with his gloves nervously. "Oh that's adorable! That means we can talk about boys!" M'gann said happily. Robin smiled. "Erm we have a mission, so let's put a pin in this."
They retrieved the files easily. That was before Kid Flash set off alarms and a fire broke out somehow. "Go through there!" Robin ordered, pointing to the stairs. M'gann, along with Aqualad, was becoming weak from the fire and Robin was doing her best to help her. They got to the bottom floor when woodwork began to fall. Robin handed M'gann to Superboy just before a big piece of wood that was on fire fell. "Get M'gann and Kaldur out of here! I'll find another way out!" Robin ordered. They were reluctant at first but he convinced them to leave.
"We need to get to the back of the building," Kid Flash stated worriedly. "No get up that building, that way we can see where Robin will meet us," Aqualad reasoned. They nodded and got onto the building. As they did there was a loud explosion. "ROBIN!" The team yelled as the building came down. Aqualad noticed a body flying into the sea beside the building. "I've got him, don't worry," he said, trying to reassure the distraught teammates. He jumped into the sea and began searching. Robin had gone deep into the sea. He took off his cape but couldn't do much else. It was too dark to see anything. Aqualad was a few feet away and hadn't expected Robin to whip around and get into a defensive position. How the hell did he know I was there? It's dark and he was a good three feet away (one meter away for my fellow British ppl). He ignored the thought and swam to Robin. The boy began kicking and punching blindly, hoping to land a hit on his mystery assailant. "Robin it's Kaldur," he told him. Robin stopped thrashing and let Aqualad take him to the surface.
Robin coughed up some water and Aqualad looked at him worriedly. "Bring the bio-ship over to us," Aqualad ordered. Robin smiled tiredly. "Are you alright, my friend?" he asked worriedly.
"I just got blown up," Robin answered with a smile. "I think I'm alright for the circumstances." He was shivering and his voice sounded stressed. "Rob, you got any cuts or burns?" Kid Flash asked. "I'm fine Wal," he answered. Aqualad raised an eyebrow and checked him over.
"Minor burns on his arms, a few cuts but nothing major," Aqualad said. Robin rolled his eyes at him. "I'm trying not to scare them Kaldur, they just saw me get blown up." Aqualad nodded but this was worrying behavior. He should probably watch out for that. The bio-ship hovered over them and M'gann let them in. They were soaking wet and Robin's shivering was getting worse. "That was my favorite cape as well," he joked. Kid Flash ran to him with a towel and blanket. "I'm so glad you're alright," M'gann said, relieved. Robin smiled at her.
"Would I be anything else?" Artemis rolled her eyes at his comment. God this kid was something special.
Robin began to dry off and Wally made sure he kept the blanket around him since he was still shivering. "So Robin, you like anyone?" Artemis asked. Robin blushed.
"I, err, maybe do it's, erm, hard to explain," he managed to say. "You guys won't tell anyone else will you? I don't know how the League would react or my brothers or Batman. I really can't afford getting kicked out right now," he told them.
"We promise we won't tell a soul. But for the record, your family already thinks you're gay," Wally informed him. Robin paled. "They do? How? WAIT, that's why they wanted to clean my room! Oh, they're so dead!" The team laughed at his embarrassment.
