Artemis was having a pleasant conversation with Connor and Kaldur when they heard voices coming down the hallway. "Dick, you have to be scared of something!" M'gann insisted.

"It's impossible for you not to be!" Wally added. Dick sighed and carried on walking.

"I'm Batman's protégé, I'm not supposed to get scared," he answered slightly irritated.

"Wait, you're not scared of anything?" Kaldur asked as soon as he saw Bruce's ward walk in. "Yes! How hard is that to understand?" he asked, sitting down grumpily. "

Everyone is scared of something. You don't show weakness because of it," Kaldur assured him, making the teen sink into the couch whilst groaning. "Why is this so hard for you all to comprehend? I. Don't. Get. Scared." he said gruffly.

"I don't believe you," Artemis stated.

"When have you ever seen me afraid?" he asked. There was silence.

M'gann then jumped up. "You're scared when you have your night terrors," she said triumphantly.  "No I'm sad when I have those." he stated.

"You were scared when we were gonna die in that simulation," Wally replied. He shook his head, "Nope. I was extremely guilty."

"When the reds almost drowned you! You must've been scared," Artemis insisted.

"Wrong, I kept traught."

"After the CADMUS break in?" Kaldur asked.

"Nice guess but I wasn't scared of the scolding, I just wasn't looking forward to it."

Now he had a smile on his face as if mocking the team indirectly. "Joker." Connor said simply. "I'm not scared of the clown, I'm cautious." he replied. "Are we done?"

"No because you have to be scared of at least one thing! You work in Gotham for God's sake," Wally ranted.  "Exactly. I work in Gotham where showing fear gives you one way ticket to the morgue. Batman taught me to not be scared," he told them.

"I taught you to hide it," Batman corrected from the doorway. He'd watched the conversation and found it a little amusing. But only a little. He was Batman of course. The team jumped except for Dick who just shrugged. "Same difference right?" As Wally was about to question this, Batman interrupted him. "Continue this matter later, I have a mission for you. Suit up quickly and meet me by the Zetatubes." he announced. They nodded and walked out. He put a hand on Dick's shoulder, grabbing his ward's attention. "What's wrong?" he questioned.

"I fear that you may be taking your training too seriously. You don't have to use it every single second of the day. It's when you're Robin, not Dick," Batman lectured.

"Call it practice Batsy," Dick replied then walked off. Batman could only sigh, silently worrying for the kid he'd raised and wondering why Dick insisted on calling him Batsy half the time.

They met up after twenty minutes, ready and excited for the mission. "There's peculiar activity in Gotham's Central Park. Normally Robin and I would solve this problem but I have to go off world within half an hour. I want you to go there and search for any devices that could be emitting this radio wave," he explained, stopping briefly to play the evidence.

"That sounds weird," Kid Flash stated.

"Great observation captain obvious," Artemis commented, hitting him in the arm.

"It's been tampered with. There's a message in there somewhere," Robin replied, fiddling with his glove. A few moments later he finished and put the result on the screen then played it. Screaming. "What the f-"

"No swearing in front of Dick!" M'gann yelled, covering Robin's ears.

"He's heard worst," Batman said simply. M'gann removed her hands but shot a glare at Artemis for good measure. "Ivy doesn't deal with torture and Joker is still in a coma, Harley doesn't work alone, Riddler would've sent us a message gloating by now, Penguin is in Arkham as of twenty minutes ago and this isn't Mr Freeze's MO." Robin thought aloud, ruling out each villain. He snapped his fingers. "Scarecrow duh," he said.

"Robin, do you have the antidote for fear gas?" Batman asked. Robin nodded.

"Let's get going. We'll inform you on what happens once it's over Batman," Aqualad announced. The Bat nodded and walked out the Zetatubes. "Good luck to you too," Robin mumbled.

They landed in the park and got to work. Gotham police had already sectioned off the area and let the heroes do what they needed. "The police are oddly nice to us." M'gann said through the mind-link. Robin shrugged. "They don't want to die trying to help, that's Batman and I's job." he replied with a laugh. His morbid humor was a little misplaced. "I've got enough antidotes for you guys to have one shot. Use it in emergencies only, got it? And don't let Supey or M'gann get hit with fear gas unless you really want to die." He handed out small needles to everyone and smiled. What they didn't know is when he said I've got enough for you guys he meant it literally. He only had enough for them. "Okay let's split up. Connor and M'gann you search the lake. Kid Flash and Artemis look in the children's play area. Robin and I will search the woods here. Once you're sure your area is clear help us. Got it?" Aqualad ordered. They nodded and split up.

As Aqualad and Robin entered the woods, the Atlantian decided to make small talk. "So, how's school?" he asked as Robin climbed a tree.

"Terrible but I'll live...maybe." Robin answered, the pause worrying him.

"That's...."

"Bad? Yeah. What're you gonna do?" Not exactly a good answer.

"How are we going to find the device?" Aqualad asked.

"Like this," Robin answered jumping down and running down a hill. He walked over to where Robin was now standing and saw a massive dome. "What is this?" he asked. Robin looked at it in a confused manor. "Everyone meet up now." Robin ordered, stepping towards the dome.

"Have you seen something like this before?" Aqualad asked. Robin shook his head. The rest of the team raced to where they were and stood in awe of the structure. "I'm gonna touch it," Robin stated, walking up to it and raising a hand. "Robin, maybe you shouldn't do that," M'gann suggested. He ignored her and pressed his hand onto the dome's surface only for it to go straight through. "Guess I'm going in?" He pushed his weight through effortlessly. "Let's go." he told them. They tried to enter...but they couldn't.
