I smiled seeing Maya in shiny dark blue dress. She looked so adorable for New Years Eve. I never really found the need to celebrate a new year. I mean when you're a five hundred plus vampire, the years fly.

Maya twirled around, loving the way the bottom of her skirt flowed. I'm surprised she picked this dress because its blue, instead of her favorite color pink. "Momma, can I wear your heels?" She asked, looking down at her feet, wiggling her little toes. I chuckled, before going into her closet to take out a pair of black flats.

"You are too small to wear heels." Maya in heels was a recipe for disaster. I handed the black flats to a pouting Maya. "Hey, I'm letting you stay up late today." I coed. She took the flats, slipping them on with a small smile.

When the bell rang, I knew it was Rain and Angelo because of their scents. Opening the door, I did not expect to see Angelo looking more attractive than usual, something I thought was impossible. His hair was pushed back by gel. He had a white button up shirt tucked into dark jeans that fitted his waist. He looked yummy.

"Happy New Years Eve!" Rain shouted, pulling me into a bear hug.

I laughed. "Happy whatever day to you too." I said indifferently. I twirled my finger in her hair. "I love the beach waves, by the way." She pulled back, making me take notice on her look. She was in a tight, short fitted, black dress. It looked amazing on her. Her light brown hair fell over her shoulders in waves.

"Thanks! Where's my baby?" She narrowed her eyes, before going into the house.

"Yeah! Come in, make yourself at home!" I yelled sarcastically. My eyes drifted to Angelo's, arching an eyebrow when I see him smirking. I led him inside, closing the door after him. "What are you smirking on about, wofly?" He wrapped me in his arms, before pecking my cheeks.

"Now, that's not the way to greet your boyfriend when you haven't seen him in days."

I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Mh, how should I greet you then?" His eyes darkened, causing mine to widen. "Don't you dare make some dirty remark. There is a child in the house."

He threw his head back and laughed. "Wait until I get you alone."

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" We all screamed. I felt Angelo's lips fall on mine.

"Aw!" Rain commented, before taking a picture. I pulled away. After hugging Rain and Maya tightly, whispering 'Happy New Year' in their ears, we made a toast. Maya, of course held a cup of sprite.

Before I could start the toast, the bell rung. I stiffened, recognizing the scent. I heard Rain's heart pump harder. "Uh, I'll get it." I said, making my way to the door.

"Lucas! What are you doing here?" He looked almost identical to Angelo, except his button up shirt was red.

He bit his lip nervously. "Uh, Happy New Years, Jewels."

I led him inside, scared to see how Rain was going to react. Angelo pulled him into a hug, before Maya squealed, yelling: "Luca!" I handed Lucas a champagne glass.

"We were just making a toast. Care to lead?" I asked him, leaning my head against Angelo's shoulder.

Lucas ran a hand through his blonde hair. "Okay. So may this new year be filled with many blessings and happiness. Good bye 2013 and hello 2014." We cheered before clinking our glasses against each others.

Surprisingly the night went by uneventful. After Maya fell asleep around 12:30, Lucas, Rain Angelo and I went to the backyard and made a bon fire. We all talked and joked around, drinking champagne here and there. Rain was tense at first but soon started to enjoy herself, which I was glad for. I did notice the glances between Lucas and her. I pitied their relationship, but I was not going to interfere.

I felt Angelo kiss my cheek, making me smile. "Happy New Years, Little Red." For the first time since death, I actually felt hope spurge in me. This year was going to be meaningful, I decided. I had a loving daughter, a lovely friend and caring mate next to me. This year was going to be different, a good different I hope.

"Happy New Years, wolfy."

Going back to school was hectic. I drove Maya to her building, frowning when I saw a sad look in her eyes. I watch Maya walk up the stairs to the elementary building, but she stopped when a small blonde girl came to her.

"Hey bastard, did your mommy bring you to school, or was it your non-existent dad? Oh I forgot, you don't have one!" She then let out a shrill laugh. Two small Asian girls joined the little demon. Anger filled me. I was about to get out of my car and rip the little girl's face off when I heard something extremely familiar.

Growls

Suddenly, twin boys came up next to my Maya and snarled at the three girls. They had beautiful black hair that shined, mixing with their green eyes. Green eyes that flared with anger.

"Leave her alone, Tina!" Oh so the little demon was Tina?

"Or what?" Tina snarled.

"You don't want to know." One of the twins said. I was dumbfounded. These kids looked eight, yet spoke like they were twenty-eight. Tina and the Asian girls huffed before walking away.

"Hi, I'm -"

They began to introduce themselves, making me smile. It looks like Maya has her own set of bodyguards.
