I watched her from afar, my heart accelerating every time she would throw her head back to laugh and smile. She sat at the edge of the pool, kicking her feet in the water, lightly splashing Rain, who was so intrigued to what Jewels was saying. By her body language, I could tell she was worried about something. The muscles on her back were strained, like if she was tense; she was gripping the side of the pool so tightly that the veins in her hands were appearing on her skin like goose bumps. Almost like if she could feel my stare, she turned her head around and made contact.
Her eyes were intense, and unlike the rest of her, they weren't at all expressive; they were cold, like ice. Most blue eyes are so captivating, you swear that you could just dive into them with the peak of awe nipping at your facial features, but when you peered into her frozen irises you feel an electrical chill run down your spine, through your body making your features numb, like ice. Every tendril of various shades of incandescent striking white-blue staying lined up next to one another, making her eyes themselves seem like a white tundra; it is as if a blizzard is eternally raging on with a black void in the center that are her pupils. They don't capture light, but defy it. They're so...so blue that they literally glow. She glows.
I saw the worry leave her body like air once she looked at me. Pleasure filled me, knowing I was the one that caused that. One single look can make her stress go away. And the smile that kissed her rosy lips made my body temperature spike up. Why was she so flawless? She isn't human.
If someone told me a year ago that I would have a vampire mate, I would have asked if it was an April fool's joke. These last few months had been unexpected, but they have also been probably the best days of my life. Jewels made me smile, made me laugh. She is the only one that can cause the inhuman spikes of heat that filled me; my body was a human furnace around her. She is the only one that can make me feel a variety of emotions in one minute. She was my heaven on earth.
"Angelo!" I blinked a few times before turning to look at a smirking Lucas. "Stop staring at your girlfriend and listen to me!" I pushed Lucas lightly.
"Oh shut up. So what were you saying?" I chuckled seeing him glare at me.
"Nice to know that I was just wasting breath."
"Don't be a drama queen. What were you saying?" I repeated, crossing my arms.
He rolled his eyes. "That Cassidy chick was here again yesterday night. She was just 'visiting' her mom." He put air quotes around visiting. I don't trust Cassidy for nothing in the world. She is a liar, a trickster and a manipulator. Her mother, Sandra, was dying from a heart disease that I forgot the name of. She claims she was here to spend time with her mother before she passes away but I don't believe any of that bull shit. Cassidy and Sandra never had a close relationship, no scratch that. They don't have much of a relationship, period. I feel bad for Sandra. Shes human. Her body doesn't have the ability to fight things like us. She doesn't deserve this.
"Mhmm. I don't trust her at all."
"Me either. She gives off bad vibes. My wolf can feel it." Lucas told me, taking a sip from a glass of water that was sitting on the glass table in front of us.
"Same. I will talk to my dad about it later." As I said that, I saw Lucas' eyes flicker to the side of me.
"What are you guys up to?" Rain asked as she placed her head on my shoulder. Her hair was wetting the dry shirt I put on a few minutes ago after I got out the pool. I shoved her a bit with my shoulder.
"Get off, wet dog." I teased. I pinched my nose. "You even smell like wet dog!" I exclaimed, earning a slap to my arm.
"Oh shut up!"
I looked at Lucas to see him staring at my sister. "Dude, stop drooling. Don't be jumping from one sister to another." I joked. Lucas eyes darkened. It seemed like he wasn't listening at all. Rain shifted uncomfortably as she looked away. There was something going on between these two.
"I think Jewels is calling me." Rain lied before quickly walking away. I looked over to see Jewels jumping into the pool. I smiled as she pushed her hair back. Immediately, a laughing Maya jumped onto Jewels' back. I turned to look at Lucas.
"Wassup with you and Rain?"
His eyes were no longer dark. "What are you talking about?"
"I already know." I smirked, lying.
His eyes widen. "Since when?"
I shrugged. "For a bit, I guess."
He closed his eyes, sighing in relief. "Glad I didn't have to tell you. I thought you were going to punch me in the face for being Rain's mate."
I gaped. "What!?"
Lucas jumped, stepping back a little. "You said you knew!"
"How long have you and Rain kept this from me?"
"A while..."
"Who else knows?" I growled.
"Wolfy," I inhaled sharply, sighing inside at her delicious scent. It was a scent I couldn't describe, like the smell of the color white. It was absolutely ravishing. "I don't think that has much importance. What matters is that you now know, right?" I turned to look at her. The water dripping from her hair slid down her neck, a few pooling at her collarbones. Her pale skin screamed out to me, to touch, to caress. "Wofy?"
"Your right, little red."
"Man! You're pussy whipped!" Lucas laughed, pointing a finger at me. I smirked seeing Rain shove him.
"Pussy whipped huh?!"
His eyes were wide, not knowing what to say or respond. Jewels threw her head back laughing. I stared in awe. It was like she was in slow motion. I saw her wet curls fall back, the corner or her lips lift as her eyes lit up. It was such a beautiful site.

Jewels laid her head on my chest. "Angelo?" I raised an eyebrow at the fact that she didn't call me 'Wolfy'.
"Yes, little red?"
"Can you mark me after tonight? You know, after the whole thing with the Ravnos clan?"
I bit my lip, holding in a smile. "Whatever you want, baby."
"Angelo?"
"Hm?"
She was silence for a few moments. "Never mind". In the back of my head, I imagined what she was going to say. The curiosity got the best of me.
"What were you going to say baby?"
She lifted her head up, looking into my eyes. "αγαπώ"
I have no clue what she just said. But the fire inside her eyes tells me its something good. Unexpectedly, warm lips pressed against mine. My eyes fluttered shut and in the darkness I see light exploding.
When she kissed me, my brain lit on fire and the warmth spread throughout my entire body. After that I was addicted, I couldn't bare not to be with her and I could barely breathe when she was around. Kissing her was like diving head first into an erupting volcano full of bliss. She tastes like happy mid nights under turning galaxies. Its intoxicating.
Those kisses were my salvation and my torment. I lived for them and I would die with the memory of them on my lips. I dedicated my life to being with her from the moment of that kiss, for I knew that if I lost her I would loose myself. She was the half that made me whole.
"αγαπώ" I repeated softly, feeling her smile against my lips.
Having her in my arms, feeling her warmth, her passion was pure ecstasy. I wanted her with me forever.
