I awoke on my bed, my head pounding. I was in a singlet and my boxer briefs, I could see pidge in the corner. "Pidge?" I croaked and she stood, putting her book down and coming to my side.

"Are you awake this time?" She asked concerned as I frowned. How long had I been out?

"Uh... I think.." I mumbled.

"We had you in a healing pod for about a day... we got you out but you were still too weak... even when you'd recovered.."

"Where's lance?" I asked, my throats was dry and my head was killing me.

"He's in his room... princess Alura is with him... she said... she couldn't leave him..." she smiled. "If I didn't know any better I'd say maybe lance had a chance. But we all know who she loves."

"Freaking Shiro..." I chuckled but winced.

"Take it easy..." She said worriedly and I pushed myself up. "What did I just say?" She adjusted her glasses looking frustrated.

"You're hair is getting long pidge..." I smirked. "Did hunk say he liked it long did he~" I knew pidge was majorly crushing on Hunk, she was just too shy to admit it. And hunk was to dense to notice.

"It doesn't matter... does it?" She asked playing with the strands shyly.

"Well I swear I heard him say he would've liked to have seen you with long hair~" I teased as I pushed myself to my feet. She blushed and ran to my side.

"Stupid lay back down!" She scoulded and I pushed against her. "I mean it!"

"No I'm gonna go see lance..." I mumbled. "I wanna see if he's okay..."

"You're body isn't strong enough yet he's not dying!" She scoulded and I turned to see Allura standing in the doorway. She had an apologetic look on her face as she walked over.

"It's alright Pidge... I think he needs to see him..." she said kindly as she walked over and held out her hand to me. "He did cut his leg off after all... I think he needs some reassurance..." she said softly and pidge nodded, handing me over.

"Who's watching Lance..."

"I have shiro watching him for me... I know you asked me not to leave him but someone had to get you, poor pidge wouldn't be able to carry you that far." She giggled and sighed.

"How's he doing?"

"Pidge has been building his leg with shiro, but she had to stop when I predicted you'd be waking again. I didn't want you to wake up alone and hurt yourself." She opened the door and I walked inside to see shiro in the corner, looking tired.

"Come on shiro lets go. You need rest..." she declared as she sat me on a chair beside lances bed. She went to shiro and took his arm.

"I'll be upstairs if you need me Keith..." she said and put lances helmet on the ground beside me. So I could call In.

When they left, I moved myself closer to lance, holding his hand tightly, tears in my eyes. "Please don't hate me... when you wake up..." I mumbled and ran my fingers through his hair.

I pulled the blanket back and looked at his leg. It hurt to look at, where his leg ended his below his knee, the skin formed over it as if it he had never had the bottom half of his leg.

"Keith?" I heard a familiar voice ask shakily. I looked to lances face and sighed in relief. "Keith... what happened..." he whimpered.

"The monster... it attacked the ship... and you... you... you had to loose... your leg..." I whimpered as I felt his hand tighten around mine as his breathing quickened, I couldn't stop the tears that came. "I'm so sorry... I couldn't save your leg..."

He cupped my cheek and pulled me onto the bed beside him, holding me close. "Show me... please.." he mumbled as he held me close, breathing deeply.

I shakily reached down and pulled back the covers to show him exactly what I'd done to him. "This is all my fault..." I mumbled and i head him try to keep himself calm for me.

"It's okay.." he mumbled and hugged me. "It's okay I'm sure you did... everything you could... it's okay... it's going to be okay.. isn't it..." I felt his tears drop onto my neck.

"I will try..." I mumbled and hugged him tightly as he cried into my shoulder.
