"Ours or theirs?"
"Theirs, my lord"
"Send the knight"
"Yes, my lord."

Cora's POV

Al and I barely managed to survive school. Al was straining to contain her emotions. Her emotions are exaggerated beyond belief. It's not her fault but one spark of annoyance leads to anger. It's incredibly frightening.

I still can't believe this shy weak girl has this burden. I don't know what she is. It frustrates me beyond belief. There is a creature that is similar to her powers but they can't walk the earth in day time. Also they haven't been seen for two millennia.

Besides I think shaking my head. Al is to nice to be one of those heartless things.

The moment we enter Ry's house. Aléde drops to the ground panting. She clutches her head. This is not good not one but.

Aléde's POV

Something's wrong with me. I could feel my emotions swirl inside of me begging to be let free.

The moment I stepped into Ry's house. My head pounded in pain. Every fiber in my body burned with what felt like my veins were made by liquid fire.

My necklace was glowing. Brighter than I had ever seen it. Something bad was coming. Whether it was me I'm not sure or something else.

A loud boom could be heard from outside. Sharing a glance Cora and I rushed outside to see what was going on. A large creature stood there. The creature was fully black with two glowing red eyes. Hatred was exerted from this thing.

A sharp intake of breathe could be heard from next to me. Turning I see Cora, who has no colour left in her face.

"Cora, what is wrong? What is that thing?" I asked her. She managed to drag her eyes away from the creature standing there.

"Al, I'm going to need you to go back inside."

"What! No I can not leave you here to face this thing!" I say.

"Al." She says turning to me, a fire burning in her eyes. She looked a bit frightening but not as frightening as the black boulder of a creature in front of us.

I nodded, now is not the time to argue. Though instead of rushing inside Ry's house. I moved behind a bush.

Cora got into a fighting stance, both her hands covered in a glowing green light. Her ears started to elongate and become pointed. Her hair becoming a lighter colour. This is what a fae's true form is I guess.

Cora charged the monster. Moving so fast she was almost a blur. My eyes could barely follow her. The monster though could. Lifting its great big paws it swatted her away easily as if she was a fly. Cora charged again dodging its attempts to hit her. When she got close enough she jumped onto the creature's head and shot a blast of green.

The monster did not even seem fazed by this. Cora was beginning to look a bit worn out at this stage. The battle continued with Cora dodging and trying to lay a hit and with the monster trying to move past her.

A scream echoed through the air. Cora! She was laying underneath the beast's paws. Her forehead thoroughly bleeding. Anger coursed through me but this time I did not try to stop it. My necklace glowed brighter. I could feel my appearance change but I did not mind in fact I welcomed it.

My arms began to get coated in fire. I ran towards this thing and threw my flames at it. But like Cora's attack it did nothing. I grew angrier and angrier, I could feel myself change even more, I wanted to destroy this thing. I wanted to destroy anything. I did not care about anything at the moment. My thoughts are just kill and destroy. I raised my hand the monster began to become incased in a dark red light. I imagined the monster being in pain. The moment  I thought this, the creature began to scream.

I felt a smile cross my face. I enjoy its pain. I closed my fist hard. Its screams getting louder till it exploded.

Cora's point of view

My head hurt a lot. But that didn't matter at the moment. I glanced up at Al. She looked completely different. Her eyes were a dark red. Not the iris, the whole eye. She looked paler. Her hair seemed to have gone black. She had a dark menacing grin set on her face. Her teeth once straight now pointed and deadly.

Her gaze drifted towards me. Her eyes held no recognizance of who I was. This wasn't Al. This was a monster that only wanted death and destruction.

If possible her grin grew wider. In a flash she was before me. Seeing her closer I could see her nails were not nails but talons. She raised my head gently with my hand examining my face.

"W-who are you?" I managed to stutter out.

A mock hurt flew across my face. "Why, Cora, I am hurt. I thought you knew me. I am AL remember."

I looked at her. This thing couldn't be her. Not in a million years. "You're not Al. Al couldn't jurt anything. She is too good for that."

She grabbed my shirt puling me towards her. "I am Al. This is me and now" she paused stroking me cheek with her free hands. "You are in my way." She continued.

I felt a burning arise inside me. The pain was horrible. I let loose a scream. AL first smiled at the scream but then a flicker of doubt crossed her face. I did the only thing I could think that might confuse her enough to get me away. I kissed her.

The pain immediately stopped. I started to feel her kiss back. It was amazing. My first kiss. Who would have thought it would have turned out like this.

I started to feel something wet against my skin. Pulling away I could see Al was back to normal with a few physical changes. I pulled her into a hug sitting on the grass. Stroking her back.

"It's okay. You're okay." I said softly as she continued to cry. Us two clutching to each other like her life depended on it. But I can't help wonder what just happened to her and why that kiss felt so good.
