"My lord, do you think she is ready?"
"Trust me, she's ready and once I have her..."
"What is it my lord?"
"Once I have her there'll be no stopping her."

Ry's POV

I watch Aléde sleep. She doesn't deserve this life. Barely discovered the supernatural world and already stabbed by its claws.

Her peaceful sleep ends soon as I see her toss and turn. She lets out a small whimper. What the hell?

"Aléde wake up, love" I grab her shoulders and gently shake her. Her eyes snap open still glazed over with sleep and consumed by fear. What is giving her these nightmares? Why couldn't I help her?

"Aléde, love, it's just a dream you're okay, you'll be okay." I state softly keeping eye contact with her.

Her heart rate starts to settle down, her breathing not as rushed and shallow.
"Want to talk about it" I ask her.
"I can not" she replies her voice still rough from sleep.
"Why not?" I ask hoping for answers.
She looks down out of shame
.
"I-I do not recall it." She mutters so quietly I nearly miss it. Strange nightmares generally leave a memory for emphasis to make the fear greater. I need to speak to Cora.
"I'm going to make breakfast. Come down when you are ready." I told her. I left the room. On the way to the kitchen I called Cora, she can help. I'm sure of it

Aléde's POV

Ry left me to get ready for my second day of school and to be honest between the nightmares and the lack of sleep. I'm not sure if I am even up to it.

I quickly pull on the uniform I wore yesterday. Not the most hygienic thing to do but what else can I wear.

I slowly make my way down the grand staircase and walk to the kitchen. As I draw nearer I begin to hear two voices. One I recognized as Ry's, the other was a complete mystery.
I frown and turn in to the kitchen.

In front of me stood Ry and the most beautiful thing in the world. I literally felt my breath hitch when I made eye contact with this walking object of beauty.

She had dark caramel hair, which was contained in a French plait resting on her slender shoulders. She had a slender figure, had had curves in all the right places. Slightly tanned skin.
My eyes made their way up to her face. There was a sight to behold. She had defined cheekbones. Small slightly upturned lips.

But her eyes. You could melt from them. A light amber colour with gold flecks. Her eyes seemed to glow.

I could feel my mouth hanging wide open. Behind her I caught Ry suppressing a smirk at my predicament

"Hi, I'm Cora, you must be Aléde?" She spoke. Her voice was like liquid gold.

"Uhh, h-h-hi Cora." I inwardly groan at my stuttering.

"Aléde, Cora here is part of the fae, she is an empath. She is here to help you release your emotions in a healthy way aswell as control them." Ry says.

"That's right." she replies with a happy tone.
"I'll be sharing your classes with you and stay with you after school." She continues.

I could feel my face go red.
"That is if you want of course" she says.

"You two will also be staying here." Ry adds in.

Praise my luck. No more hiding in dingy apartments. But what if I hurt her. What if I kill her. I frown, how messed up my life is to worry that you, yourself, might hurt people you genuinely care about.

"Sure" I mutter. Not really caring if they hear me or not.

"Awesome!" Cora beamed at me. I couldn't help but feel myself  start to catch on to her happy mood.

Still having to spend all day with Cora was a blessing. Who knows maybe we can become friends or more. No Aléde, balls of sunshine do not go with pools of darkness. This is only temporary until I leave again.

Cora must have picked up on my mood dropping. Being an empath and all. Cora grabbed my hand, instantly making my face heat up again. I could hear the sink's tap explode.

Cora just laughed. Her laugh are like bells. Melodic. She was not freaked out about me. She even found it humorous!

Cora quickly dragged me out the house leaving Ry to lag behind. Grabbing our school bags as we go.
"So..." she starts off. " I'm Cora McGuire, I'm from Scotland but lived here in Ireland most of my life. My mother and father are both fae. I'm 1500 years old, young I know but I guess Ry wanted someone with a similar mindset to you. Ry and I only met recently you know, I think it was 30 years ago. I forget. How old are you? From your power levels I'm guessing super old or really young. Ry didn't give me lots of information-"
Cora burst out laughing. I just stared at her in shock. How can someone jump topics like that.
"I'm so sorry there" Cora says. " I actually word vomited all over you. I didn't even give you a chance to reply." She shook her head in amusement. I found myself smiling at her. Who wouldn't?

Cora hasn't let go of my hand not even once. Even as we entered the school.
"I'm also new here you know" she says smiling at me. "Joined last week"
I nodded meekly. I could see many people stop to check her out. Girls with jealousy. Boys with arousal. Though the moment they glanced down to our linked hands. They looked away in disgust.

"You don't talk much do you?" Cora asked during the break between one of our classes.
I shrugged getting a giggle out of her.
"I bet, I'm going to make talk to me someday without you being nervous. Heck I'm even going to make you laugh at one of my jokes." Cora states a playful determination in her eyes.

If only. If only I wasn't this freak.

Cora sighed. She glances at me, "A, can I call you that, nah it sounds to much like pretty little liars. Maybe Al, yeah I like that." She starts mumbling to herself. She does that a lot. I do too just mainly in my head.
"Anyway, Al, you can trust me and talk to me. I experienced many hardships in my life. I'd probably understand more than you would think." Cora says. Her voice full of sympathy and hidden pain. She cups her hand under my chin bringing my eyes up to meet hers.
"I just don't want to hurt you" I mumble.

"And you won't. I might not look like it but I can handle what you can throw at me. Besides, that's why I'm here. To help you, if I get hurt in the process. I don't care" she says giving me a kiss on the cheek.

Cora stands up. She then grabs my hand and pulls me into class.

How can someone be so selfless. How could someone risk themselves like that for others. My last question is what happened to this ball of sunshine that gives her cracks.

Cora confuses me but in a good way.

A sudden thought struck me. My powers have not played up yet since I've been with her. She makes me feel emotions without things exploding. Could I have just found my savior.

These are the thoughts that go through my head the rest of the school day.
