The feeling was different.

The next morning ,

Kate's POV
Today is different. I don't know why but I was feeling happy. I was lying in my bed and was thinking about last night. I shouldn't, I know. Because at the end of the day I'll get hurt as I knew he loved Katherine and not me.

Damon's POV
I'm up. All night those words kept playing in my mind like a record, "You have me" her voice was intoxicating and her eyes were a mirror to me, I could see myself through her eyes, the real me. I never wanted her to be close to me, because when I give in, I always get hurt. But I'm feeling different. For the first time in a long while, I am happy.

(At the grill)

Kate's POV
I left for the grill after disconnecting the call. Everyone was already there. I got inside the car and rushed to the grill. I opened the gate and moved towards the pool table, everyone was gathered around it, talking & laughing. I joined them and started enjoying (My eyes were constantly searching for him).

Few minutes later
Stefan approached me, he stood right next to me, watching the pool game.
"Thanks" he said leaning down towards my shoulder.
"For what?" I said while looking at him.
"For Damon. After what happened I thought Damon will be off the rails. I was trying to find him all evening and then I saw him enter your place. So I headed back home. And then the next thing I see is He's okay." He paused for a second and then continued
"So thank you." He looked at me and gave me a polite smile.
"Oh.. don't thank me, thank your girlfriend if you want to. Coz she was the one who asked me to talk to him otherwise I would have shut the door on his face."
We both started laughing. I looked at the door, I saw Damon enter the grill.
For a second my heart stopped beating but then again I knew Damon he would definitely figure out about me acting wierd so I played cool. He walked towards me and Stefan.

"Hey" he said looking at me giving me a smile. Well that was the first time Damon Salvatore smiled at me.
"Hi" I replied (playing cool)
"I'll see you, Kate." Stefan said while walking towards Elena.

***********my thoughts*************
No! Stefan don't go. I think I'm gonna explode. Oh please come back.

He stood there right by my side, his hand slightly touching mine and sending chills down my spine.

"So..." he said
"How are you holding up" I asked interrupting him.
"Hmm... Good. Thanks to you I'm still here." He looked at me smirking.

God he's so hot. All of a sudden I realise how hot he is. Seriously I'm in Mystic falls for months now.

"Good" I replied after a long pause.

Both of us didn't have much to say. Ofcourse we were fighting like cats a day before and now we are friends, Great!
It was late, I got out of the grill and walked towards my car.
"What? seriously." I shouted.
One of the tire was punctured. I turned back.
"What the" I screamed and then continued
"Omg Damon you scared me."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." He replied.
I was really startled. And then we were back on the problem. After staring at the car speechless. Finnaly someone spoke.

"Let's walk." Damon whispered.
"Fine. Let me grab my things."
"Okay"

Damon was thinking something I heard his heartbeat was a bit faster than usual. We started walking on the street. He was talking about the plan, plan to find Katherine and kill her.

"We're here." I said.
"Umm....Yeah. Good Night Kate."
The way his lips spelled my name was amazing.
"Good night Damon." I replied.
I went inside my house, turned towards him and smiled. He smiled back and then left. I closed the door behind me and walked to my bed room. I walked to the mirror and saw a smile crawling on my face. I dont know why but I loved this feeling.
