~ Vance - Chapter Two ~

Stopping in at the Thorns house to grab a change of clothes each, we all only worried about a pair of shorts or pants and then we were on our way again - running through the back streets faster than what we should have been.

Frank and Stevie had taken the Thorns jeep and were using that to follow the trails along the main roads, keeping in touch with both sides of our small hunting party as to where we should be going.

"I'm going to tear each of their limps off!" Saxon's voice thundered around as us as we cut down a tall walled alleyway between two shops.

"Just leave their heads for me," Travis growled as he dodged a sign chained to the stop sign advertising the little flower shop just two shops down.

My pack stayed silent as they ran along, Franks voice being the only I heard when he was giving us a new road they turned down following the scents. I liked it this way, I'm not big on talking, and I don't want to listen to my pack dribbling crap twenty four seven either.

Even though I only had three guys behind me, I still didn't want to listen to them and whatever they had to say right now. We were merely here for back up; just for the off chance, something goes wrong.

Ever since Lefty brought a small army of rogues into the town, I've been on extra high alert for any rogues that pass through, not knowing if they once were involved with that crap or not.

Either way, I wasn't taking the risk.

"I know your both worried, but come on - this is Eva we are talking about here, she isn't going to let some rogue walk all over her," Chris tried to argue his case, trying his best to calm the two hot heads down, but Saxon just growled at him.

He still clearly has some hidden insecurities over Eva and Chris's friendship - which I can tell you right now, no mate of mine would be making best friends with another male.

'She didn't even kill anyone at the school,' Jimmy mumbled to Frank, but I caught the very softly spoken sentence and sent a dangerous growl through to him directly.

'Eva is a better fighter than what you are, I respect the fact she didn't want to take lives that night and even though she didn't, she was a valuable asset to that fight,' I growled, 'That is to never be repeated,' I added with the air of finality and command only an Alpha can give.

Even though she thought I was capable of being a leader, I know for a fact that she never would have wanted me finding out about it, but Saxon slips up on some things from time to time. I personally won’t make the mistake of letting her know the good parts I think about her.

"My mate is carrying my child! I don't care what you have to say," Travis snapped at Chris and my pack fell silent once again.

"I can't wait 'til she pops it out, then you both will stop being so hormonal," Chris muttered, but loud enough for everyone to hear as he smirked at a glaring Travis.

"What it Chris," Travis warned.

'The local park - near the hotdog trailer,' Frank alerted my pack and I, and I knew by the sudden change in direction coming from Saxon and the Thorns, that Stevie had told them as well.

Slowing our pace down as we emerged from behind the row of buildings, the green park came into view. It was smack bang in the middle of town, with busy streets on all four sides of it and a medium height metal fence preventing kids from running right out onto the road.
