Heartless, Mindless, No one to...

My little work backpack hopped happily against my back as I walked down the street, the sun setting to my right. The air was crisp in the absence of the sun's strong beams, and the leaves were starting to curl at the ends, tinging with yellow. My absolute favorite time of year was beginning.
My thought flow was interrupted as my phone began to ring with "Limitless" by NCT 127, Jane's ring tone.
"Ya?"
"Jae Jae," Jane squeaked.
Jane had Greene tea. I knew this because Jane only called me "Jae jae" when she had fresh news that no one else had. She called this the "Greene Tea", after her American last name.
"New employee alert!"
My eyebrows shot up. I held my phone between my ear and shoulder to get my hands free as I swung my mini backpack to where I could dig through it for gum. "New employee? Are they any good?"
"Well..," Jane hesitated, seeming to rethink the subject. "Okay, he's not exactly an employee. More like a glorified patron. But that's not the point. Get here."
I paused. "Who is it?"
"Well..," She repeated. "Just come see for yourself, kay?"
I held my phone with my hand again and whined, "Yah, why can't you just tell m-"
She hung up.
I pouted sourly. Honestly, how much could it matter for her to really want me to wait?

I swung the door open to Ikoro's, peering in curiously. Everything seemed peaceful, the atmosphere a soft, warm vibe as usual. Jane was behind the register, and I headed right for her.
I opened my mouth to ask her what the deal was when my short, middle aged boss, Honnie, pushed open the swinging door to the kitchen. Behind him was a living, breathing disaster.
The one and only Oh Sehun, wearing a red work apron that matched my own.
I don't make this shit up.
