Veronica's POV:
It was March, on our Spring Break. My friends and I were in a condo my parents rented for a week. My friends Jennifer, Mia, Alyssa, Jasmine, Trish, Jayna and I have been looking forward to Spring Break for a month.
We are all 17-18 with different interests for the week. Jennifer plans to read and go to tourist attractions. Mia wants to go to parties. Alyssa is looking for romance and to write more in her story she's writing. Jasmine wants to go to the beach and surf all day. Trish wants to earn cash and watch people fight. Jayna wants to go to parties also. And then there's me, Veronica. I just want to be with my friends.
We were gone all day surfing, shopping and hanging out at the beach. When we get back to our beach-view condo, it was 10:39 PM.
"I want to shower first." Called Mia. "Im next! My hair will explode from all the humidity." Jasmine says trying to fix her hair. Alyssa, Jennifer and I were on the back porch.
The porch was a perfect view of the beach. The stars and moon were beautiful! "Did you see that dog she was holding? It was so cute!" I say remembering the little brown dog with its paws hanging out out a girl's hug. "How about that guy who was on the beach?" Alyssa asked in awe. "He seems nice then would turn into a nightmare." I say. "Yeah. He's just waiting for the perfect moment for a conundrum to happen to destroy your life." Jennifer said. "Thats cut deep bro." Alyssa says. We sat in silence in the green-blue lounge chairs.
"Well, Im going inside." Jennifer says getting up. "Me too. Its kinda late." I say joining Jennifer. "Ok. I'll be inside in a second." Alyssa says. "Ok. Remember to lock the back door when you come in." Jennifer reminds Alyssa. "I will I will." Alyssa says like she's heard it a thousand times.
When everyone had their showers done, it was 11:49. We all sat on the couch in the living room. Luckily there were two of the leather couches.
"So, there's six beds and seven girls." Mia said-stating the obvious. "Well, we cant share because the beds are too small. They barely fit anyone." Jayna says. "Its cool. I'll take the couch." I say. "Are you sure?" Alyssa asks. "Yeah. Im ok with it." I answer.
"Ok, its dang 12:00 in the morning-Im going to bed! laters." Trish says. We werent doing much so person after person left to go to bed. I lay on the leather couch sleeping.
I woke up to a pitch black room. I grab my phone that was on the coffee table and checked the time. It was 2:16 AM. Something sent a chill through me-a presence in the room. I look behind me where the back of the couch was. A shadow was in Mia's room! I grab the baseball bat next to her door and peered through the door-frame. The shadow was hovering on top of Mia. Mia-fast asleep. I run at the shadow and began beating it with the bat. Mia's eyes blinked open and a scream left her. The others woke up running to Mia's room. When they saw the shadow, they ran to the living room to hide. The shadow ran out the room and headed to the front door. I ran as fast as I could and smacked it hard with Mia's bat. The shadow fell to the floor-passed out. I grabbed its feet and began dragging it to the small wall frame. I looked around for something I could use to hold it there abd came across a hiking rope. "Jasmine, hand me the rope." I say pointing to the direction of the rope. She crawls away from her corner and grabs the rope-handing it to me. I tied the shadow to the wall. I grabbed the flashlight from the kitchen cabinet and pointed it at the shadow. It was a short boy. He was pale-except for where I struch him with the bat. He had wavy brown hair-dark chocolate. Who could this be? Why?
