CHAPTER FOUR

Chapter four

T he following morning, I prepared for school. When I arrived, Jayden dragged me to the classroom backyard. He shouted on me that I made Jeremy to come to his house last night and disgraced him. "After all, I didn't force you to sleep with me, you did it intentionally and it was a cool night when I took your virginity" he shouted at me. I was ashamed of myself. He even mentioned he was still expecting the money or else, he would publicize the picture and showed it to my so called boyfriend. These words divided my heart. I promised to give him when my mom returns. After school, I went back home with a saddened heart. Jeremy stopped talking to me after the incident so I decided to walk home alone. I prepared some cornflakes and made dinner for myself. In the night, I switched on the TV; I was watching the reality show when I heard a knock. I went ahead and opened the door. It was Jayden. His clothes were turned, he was bruised. He was looking dirty. He begged me to hide him because some people were chasing him. I didn't want to harbor him, but I later accepted. I leaded him to the bathroom where he cleaned his body; I passed him a wrapper to cover himself. I served him dinner too. We talked for a little while. He stupidly asked for the money again but I didn't reply him. I concentrated on the TV. My phone rang. It was a strange number so I picked. The call was from the police, they told me my mom was robbed on her way back. She was beaten by the robbers. One of the robbers later escaped when they were arrested by the police and my mom is in the hospital. I rushed down to the hospital leaving Jayden in my house.

My mom was in serious pain, she was beaten because she refused to drop some money for the robbers. My mom was in coma. She was lying on bed. I was asked to see the doctor. I was crying. I was really worried about my mom. She really struggled for me. I don't know why everything was happening to me. I walked to the doctor's office. He was looking at me. He didn't say a word. "Excuse me?" I broke the silence. He asked if the woman on bed was my mom and I replied positively. He said he had already paid for the hospital bills. I was surprised. He later showed me a picture of him and my mother and he explained the story behind it. "So you're my father?"I replied. He explained everything that separated him and my mother. I was really happy that I finally met my father. We both went to the police station together. I saw Michael and the rest of the guys handcuffed. The policeman pointed at Michael as the head of the robbers who robbed my mom. "Michael? I screamed". "Michael once saved my life, I don't know why he would do this to my mom" I told my dad. So Jayden was part of them. I quickly informed the police that Jayden was hiding in our house. Well, I escorted them to our house and Jayden was arrested.
