The awakening dream wasn't convincing enough for me. It was afterwards that I decided I needed to look for anything that would be... Out of the ordinary, for a human, or common for a bat.
Not only did I take more thought in my actions, the way I talk and communicate, the foods I eat, my habits, and what parts of the day I feel more energetic or active, but I also had to take a look at my past and decide which parts of my past may have led to being similar to a bat.
In the past three or four years, I had this strange urge to screech or squeep at almost any given chance. I thought it was just a strange tick that I had, and none of my other friends knew how to really do it. I loved doing it, and I usually did it without thought. Later on after I started doing it I put more thought into why I do it, if there was a reason for it or if I was just being an obnoxious child. Then I realized that I did it when I felt certain emotions -- Irritation, shyness, being uncomfortable, happiness (sometimes), and affection. It makes me happy now to realize that I was doing it with purpose, that screeching and squeeping came naturally, opposed to me doing it on purpose and being a child.
That still wasn't enough for me though, so since I figured that out I've been looking for more clues. A lot of my past habits and things I find joy from have relations to other kinds of species, like swimming and climbing and building small things with sticks around rivers and stuff. One animal I always loved and felt like I was related to was otters. Because of that, I've been considering whether or not I'm a polytherian. I haven't had a second awakening yet, and I don't know much about polytherians other than they have multiple kintypes, so for now I'm just gonna go with the one kintype -- Batkin.
