A Wizards of Waverly Place spin-off ?
It's official : The Wizards of Melrose Avenue is a go !
It's only been 5 years since the last episode of the iconic Disney Channel show has last aired. Yet this spin-off of the show which will be starring David Henrie as he reprises his role of Justin Russo will be 20 years after the events of the last episode of Wizards of Waverly Place.
The Wizards of Melrose Avenue is going to follow David Henrie as Justin Russo educating his three children to the Los Angeles way of life.
The cast is going to be composed of David Henrie, Leighton Meester known as playing Blair Waldorf in the famous drama Gossip Girl, Noah Centineo known for portraying Jesus Adams Foster on The Fosters and many recurring roles in other Disney Shows, Audrey Blanchard known for being a singer and Rowan Blanchard known for her role as Riley Matthews in the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World.
Isabelle (Audrey Blanchard) is the middle daughter at age 16, she's going through a rebellious period and wants to break free from her father's constant pression to be perfect and like her siblings. She idolises her aunt and wants to be just like her.
Ricky (Noah Centineo) is the polar opposite of Isabelle, he's 18 and the picture perfect copy of his father. He always does right by him and is constantly reminding Isabelle that she's not making the right choices.
Finally, Anabelle (Rowan Blanchard) is the youngest, 15 years old, she looks up to her sister and feels as though, she can't connect with both her father and her brother. She is super close to her mother.
Then, there's also Justin's wife, Paris Russo (Leighton Meester) is a normal human being. She barely has a relationship with her children because she lives in the real world, while Justin decided to raise them in the wizarding world so they could have a grip on their magic.
However, this being Audrey Blanchard's first acting role we're wondering if she's not and bit of a wild card to have as one of the main characters of this show. Also rumor has it, the theme song for the show will be her covering the song originally sang by Selena Gomez in Wizards of Waverly Place.
Who's excited for this spin-off ? Seeing how disney managed for it's BMW spin-off, may GMW now rest in peace. I'm excited to watch The Wizards of Melrose Avenue, coming on Disney Channel : October 31st.
