If you can know me

The scream

My good mood was suddenly interrupted by a keening scream that echoed from the unfamiliar winding  dirt road down the left side of the highway.

A woman's scream.

The sound was a  little faint but still clearly in my hearing range.

What the f**k!! A string of colourful curses escaped out of my mouth as I brought my car to  a screeching halt near the mouth of the lane. In a flash
I was out , practically busting down my car door in the haste to reach to the source of the scream.

Blood rushed to my head , a  familiar pounding echoing in my ears ,as I urged my legs to run faster. I skipped over a overturned Activa 3g in my path.

I looked around as I ran. A multitude of trucks and four wheelers were cruising past , oblivious to the sound.

Or it is better to say that even if they heard, they chose to ignore it. Afraid to meddle in ' others'  business' . I instantly felt my anger rising. What has happened to this world? Isn't there anything like humanity?

A feeling up dread rose on my chest, my mind conjuring up many horrible scenes. Faster! You are almost there man! Run faster!

Soon I could see the bend in the tracks that would lead to the source of the scream . I could already hear gruff low voices, unmistakably men. And a the other louder and shriller sound of a woman. I felt the time slow down as I took the bend and braced myself to face whatever lay ahead.

But the scene that greeted me as I came round was nothing that my 24  years of miserable existence could have ever  conjured up.

I froze in my tracks , unable to believe my eyes.

******* I know it's short, but that's for building up the suspense.
Again, I would say that you vote for me if you like it ( oh! God I'm bored asking for votes every time. Anyways it is important.) ********
