Romance In Rotorua Camp

Chapter 2

Aloca's POV

I was sat in last period eager for the bell to ring to end the day. Sav's convinced me to attended tonight's party at Lucy Hallams house. She's tall and slim and let's just say she loves herself, almost as much as she loves d*ck.

I'm not one for parties but Sav loves them and hey, I can't let my bestie go without a wing girl. The week had gone slow, I completed two projects though so I could relax at the weekend.

I felt a nudge on the back of my chair. Whoever was trying to bug me with their toes was about to get a mouthful.
"Wha-" I paused as I turned round. It was Luke. He's been in several of my classes over the past week. I always catch him taking glances at me. Maybe he finds me rude for not properly introducing myself or maybe he finds me strange. Whatever it is, he makes me nervous.
"Oh, errm. Yes?"
"Hi, I'm Luke. Dan introduced us on Monday" he said questioning if I'd remember. I nodded
"You going to the party tonight?"

'Rinnnggg'. Wahoo the weekend.

"Ermmm, I'm not sure " I doubted, now having second thoughts.

"Yes we are!" Sav butted in.

"I'll see you there then" he winked. I grabbed my books and stumbled out between the desks exiting the rooms, Sav in tow.

"Ooo, someone's got a crush on alo-"
"Hush right there missy!" I cut her off. "Tonight's going to be fun" I said sarcastically.
We hurried home, passing Savannah's house on the way so she could grab her clothes. She helped me with my makeup, I don't like wearing much so I sometimes struggle with eyeliner and contour etc. She curled the ends of my hair which sat along the base of my back. I wore black skinny jeans with an off the shoulder cherry red crop top and black stilettos, finished with a silver necklace, carrying just one diamond.

Sav got ready in a flash. She wore a white skin tight skirt that reached just above her knees with a pale pink singlet top and a pair of matching heels. She wore her hair half up and half down with a little more makeup than myself.

I stood in the mirror looking at myself, turning left and then right. I look different, a good kinda different. I felt pretty for once.

The music was blaring from inside.

" You ready?" Sav asked as we stood side by side looking at the house.
There were people stumbling out and a couple leaning on the side of the house making out.
"Only if you are" my heart was racing. Anxiety has played a huge part in my life. It's something I've had to deal with on a daily basis. It affects me in different ways and sometimes appears when I don't even know the problem. This time however, my heart was beating rapidly for a reason. Crowds. I don't do crowds.

We headed inside, the music blasting through every room. We headed straight for the bar.
"Here, have a drink. Looks like you're going to need it" Sav said as she handed me a plastic cup of coke and what smelt like vodka. I took a swig, making the back of my throat burn.

Yup definitely vodka!

We headed into the main room and danced to five or six songs. I was buzzed but I wasn't drunk. Dan came over with another drink for each of us. I knew he would be here, he never misses a party. He'd been hovering around me though, as if he was keeping an eye on me. Ludo came over and joined us too. He's a mutual friend of me and dan. He's the class clown, the one who does stupid shit, yet he always manages to get away with it.
He ran over picking me up by the waist "AL!" He shouted as he spun me in the air.
"Put me down stupid!" I laughed. He slid me down, making sure I didn't fall to the ground before taking Sav's hand and kissing it as he bowed.
"My lady" he winked. Sav faked gagged and we all laughed.
We danced to several more songs, the latest top 40, before I left to sit outside on a bench leaving the others to carry on partying.

I looked over the valley and floated off into my own little day dream, the music becoming a distant noise.

"Hey you" I looked to my right to see Luke stood there looking rather hot. My eyes widened. He didn't seem drunk. Just buzzed.
"H-,.... erm ello, I mean hello" he chuckled and I blushed.
"Mind if I sit ?" I shook my head and he parked his behind right next to me.
" Beautiful isn't it"
"Yes isn't it just" I replied making no eye contact.
"So how come you don't talk much?" He asked

I smiled slightly, that must be the reason he always stares at me.

"Erm well you know, I do sometimes" I said avoiding the truthful reply. He raised his eyebrows at me smirking. I quickly looked away.

"Okay, I get shy real quick, there's more to me than that though. Promise" I assured him.
He smiled as if he was satisfied with my answer.

"You look incredible by the way" his smile turning into a smirk as I blushed instantly.
That's probably the first time a boys complimented me this year. I mean I get the odd remark around school but it's just lads who are only after one thing or the boys who like to make me feel awkward as shit!

"Erm thanks"

"Who knew you'd be hiding that figure under all those baggy jumpers" he said still with that cocky smirk on his face.

He's noticed what I've been wearing? Well I never

I rolled my eyes and stood up.
"Who knew you'd be wondering what kind of figure I had under all those baggy jumpers" I flicked my hair over my shoulder before winking and walking back inside to carry on with the night. Leaving him sat there in shock, wondering where that sass came from.

Luke's POV

Aloca stood up to walk back inside, but not before flicking her hair over her shoulder and replying with " who knew you'd be wondering what kind of figure I had under all those baggy jumpers" she winked and wondered back inside.

I sat there in utter shock at the amount of sass that girl just gave me. No nervous stutter,  no blushing, no avoiding eye contact. Just pure sass with a hint of satisfaction.

She's right there really is more to her than she lets off.
