Everyone was busy enjoying the day, Heidi flirting with some smoking hot surfer, Sky playing volley, Lydia talking to her boyfriend on the phone. Liraz was sitting on her towel, listening to the sound of waves, she felt so lonely. 'It's okay', she thought. She put her earphones and started listenning to music. There was infinite types of music, multiple artists but country always made Liraz feel good. There was something about it that she trusted. It was there when she was happy, it was there when she broke down, and it understood her when no one else did. Because no matter how many friends we have, there comes a time when we all feel misunderstood. Music was something she appreciates and trusts. And Lucy Hale's voice was all she needed in times like this.
"The full moon is shining like a spotlight, yeah I could just sit and listen to you talkin' all night. when you whisper, yeah baby when you lean in, yeah I get a crazy, crazy good kind of feeling. It's like Amen from the back of the choir, sweet hum of freedom underneath the tires, kick back sitting by a cracklin' fire strumming them guitar strings. And like an old song on the radio that you grew up to and everybody knows, Rushing of the water when the river rolls, winding wild and free-"
Feeling someone's stare boring into her back, She turned around carefully only to find no one behind her, just a few girls applying hot pink lip gloss and taking selfies. There was nothing to see, but she know beyond the shadow of a doubt that someone was watching her. Her eyes scanned the crowds for long seconds before he appeared in her line of sight, and he seemed surprised that she detected him. Having no desire in holding eye contact or talking to him, she turned around, fixing the wild blue sea. But now she felt a presence. His presence.
-" What do you want?" The words left her mouth like bullets as she tore the earphones off, her cold eyes still fixing the waves as they slowly died after kissing the sand.
-" Nothing, I just saw you sitting here, you seemed lonely" the familiar voice of Ace mumbled as his fingers trailed on the cool sand, drawing spirals and flashes. He looked up at her, but his words had no impact on her. Not a single emotion, not a blink, not a twitch. Nothing.
-" I'm not lonely, I'm alone. And it'd be great if you leave."
-" Look, the other day.." he started but she cut him off like a knife.
-" The other day, I don't care. Last time I checked, Geek Boy thought I was creepy, rude, unkind.. Oh and fake. Now stand up, and go back to wherever you came from" She replayed the same song after it finished and started to enjoy her music before his voice disturbed her secret ritual. Again.
-" I also remember saying if you want something ask nicely" he dared to say with a boyish smile on his lips.
-" May you please fuck off ?" Emphasizing the last two words made him laugh graciously like she had just said the sweetest thing ever.
-" Again with that attitude" He shook his head. "What are you listening to?" Without waiting an answer, his hands reached her earphones and it took him a while to take in all the lyrics and sounds that were coming from her oxblood hexagram earphones. " Lucy Hale, I see" He said almost sarcastically. Almost.
-" Yes, because I was supposed to listen to Black Sabbath" she mocked. "Of course"
-" See, the atitude. You don't have to b-"
-" Be bitchy, snotty, baneful?" she interrupted
-" Build a wall around you. That's what I was going to say. Yu don't have to build a wall around you" He admitted
