Chapter 3- Small Town:
想像する- A reminiscent father rode down the streets on a ride with his daughter around town. He pointed to houses naming cousins and old teachers he knew. Uncles, aunts, old friends. The list went on. As the father droned on to the girl who doubted she'd remember a word he was saying. She was staring out the window at least trying to catch up with everything he was saying when a sentence caught her attention.
"- Wave high."
She blinked away her daze turning to her father with a curious look "Hmm?"
She asked. A smile tugged his lips as he pressed on his horn, Nodding to a friend he knew that was outside doing what looked like woodwork in front of his garage with a dog laid down in the shade of a towering oak tree.
"I said, 'Wave high.'" She quirked a brow "Yes, I know." She sighed in exasperation. The girl had a very short temper and an even shorter attention span. "What I meant was, why? Why wave high papa?" He glanced at her for a moment before moving his eyes to the black asphalt in front of them. "You see sweetie if you wave high they'll wave back. You need friends. Small towns connect all of us that's why papa knows so many people. I'd watch out for them and they watch out for me. If you ever need any help just go to these people I list and say your name proud."
The girl thought over his words before frowning. "But papa... I don't want to use my name family name for everything. I don't want to hide behind my family's strength! I wanna make my own reputation!" Her eyes shined with determination as she looked up at her father who had a proud grin on his face. He reached over one hand, ruffling her long hair "That's my girl." He praised the enthusiastic child.
