You can just smell the angst

Today was the day, Michael was gonna come out as gay and confess his gay love for Jeremy. This could end bad but he couldn't stop thinking of the positives about this. He could get his crush to be his boyfriend or this could all go down in flames.

Michael had invited Jeremy to his house after school to just chat about life, they did that alot just talk about life and cry sometimes. But this was Michael's day, his day to finally tell his best friend the truth.

"Hey Micha! I'm here"

Michael tensed up a bit at the sound of Jeremy's voice but soon relaxed knowing this will go perfectly.

"Don't you mean Heere?"

"Fuck you"

Jeremy said as he walked down the stairs. Jer sat down in his usual bean bag and looked into Michael's eyes. Michael quietly swooned at home beautiful Jeremy's eyes were but he had to control himself for just a little longer.

"So what did you wanna talk about bro?"

"Right, uh, you'd accept me no matter what sexuality I have right?"

"Of course! You're my buddy, my dude, I'd accept you no matter what!"

Michael smiled, this was going well already.

"Well, Jeremy Heere, I'm gay."

Jeremy smiled widely and hugged his best friend.

"Thank you for finally telling me Micha, I'm your best friend no matter what, I promise."

"So you won't get mad about the next thing I'm about to say?"

"Why would I? Go ahead Michael."

"Okay, here goes, I'm gay for you."

Jeremy's smile went into a slight frown.

"Michael.. you may be gay but I'm not. I'm straight and in love with Christine."

Michael's heart shattered right then and there.

"You're my best friend I just don't like you like that."

Michael mumbled something.

"What?"

"Go on, tell me. Tell me you don't love me."

His face looked like he was fine but you could tell he was shattered.

"Michael thats-"

"COME ON JER! SAY IT! SAY IT STRAIGHT TO MY FACE, NOW!"

Michael was now full on crying.

"ITS NOT LIKE YOU'RE THE ONLY THING GOOD IN MY LIFE! SO SAY IT! SHATTER ME! MAKE ME HURT AND THEN GO PLAY WITH YOUR GIRL TOY CHRISSY"

Jeremy hesitated, he can't say that. It'll crush Michael and possibly ruin their friendship, but he had. He sighed and looked at Michael with a straight face, trying to keep his cool.

"I don't love you."

Michael's face dropped, he let out laughs and let tears fall rapidly.

"Get out of my house."

"Micha-"

"Out. Now."

Jeremy turned around and started walking away, before he went out the door he could hear Michael break down and fall to the ground. He couldn't bear to see or hear Michael like this. But it was over.  They were no longer a team.

He said it, he said he didn't love me.
