Mari walked down the corridors of the tower with a bounce in her step. She knew she was always happy but she just felt extra happy today. Like life was just amazing.

When she entered the common room, She saw all her teammates in the kitchen, devouring their breakfast. In her team were her best friends. They were completely different but they worked incredibly well together.

Her team consisted of Rora Logan, Mark Logan, Damien Wayne, Konnor Stone and the bubbly teen herself, Mari'ander Grayson.

Rora was a secluded girl like her mother used to be and is a vegetarian. She meditated to control her powers and didn't like it when people touched her. Her skin was an olive green colour, her eyes were a dark green colour and her hair was dark green. She looked like her father but had the power and attitude of her mother. Her superhero name was Nightingale.

Mark was a bubbly boy with a jokester attitude like his father. He was a vegetarian and loved tofu. His skin was olive green like his sister's, light purple eyes and his hair was dark purple. He had his father's sense of humour but his mother's intelligence. His superhero name was Beast.

Damien was a misunderstood boy with a bad temper. He doesn't like that anyone would want to know his secrets and hated socializing. His skin was tanned, his eyes were blue and his hair was jet black. His superhero name was Nightbird.

Konnor was smart boy with dreams of being like his father who was in the Justice League. He loves technology and is building his car. His skin is brown, his eyes are a nice light hazel colour and he shaved his head. He has his father's gentleness and his mother's powers. His superhero name is Wasp.

Mari was a bubbly girl with a kind heart like her mother's. She loves attention and helping people. Her skin is tanned, her eyes are green like her mother's and her hair is jet black like her father's. She has her mother's powers and her father's combat skills. Her superhero name is Night fire.

"Greetings friends. Is the day not glorious?" Mari greeted, twirling happily in the air, "Morning," They muttered to her. After eating delicious pancakes made by Konnor, the all went to do their own activities.

Mari looked around for Damien. She went to his room and knocked on the door, "Come in," He yelled through the door. Mari entered the door to see Damien in his civilian clothes and he was lacing his shoe laces.

"Greetings Damien. Where are you off to?" She asked, "Somewhere," He said vaguely. She flew closer to him and smiled, "May I accompany you?" She asked. He shook his head, "No," He said.

"Have I wronged you in any way?" She questioned. "I'm going somewhere, okay? Stop asking questions," He said harshly. Mari flinched back and held back some tears, "I apologise. Allow me to depart." She whispered softly, turning around.

Damien wavered slightly and grabbed her hand lightly, "Hey," He whispered lightly, "I'm sorry. I'm just stressed. I have a date with some girl later today," He confessed.

Mari's eyes widened. She couldn't believe that Damien was going on a date. With some girl. She quickly plastered on a fake smile and stiffly nodded, "It is alright. Enjoy your outing." She gritted through her smile.

Damien smiled and quickly gave her a friendly kiss on her cheek before walking out of the room. Mari sighed in defeat.

She was in love with Damien but he was always distant. She was slowly bringing him out of his shell but maybe she wasn't good enough for him.

She wished she was better.
