Mari sat in her room looking through magazines. She had once found a teen girl magazine and she loved looking at the latest gossip and quizzes that they offered.

She threw the magazine down and flipped over to lie in her back. She groan. What did Damien see in this girl anyways? Mari frowned at this thought.

What if he loved this girl? What if he forgot about Mari? What if he quit the titans to be with this girl?

Mari gasped and sat up. She could not allow this to happen. She threw open her window and zipped out of he room and flew to town. She whipped out her circular communicator and tracked his coordinates.

She flew to where he was. She hid behind a tree. She peeked through the branches and saw him with a girl. She had blonde hair, blue eyes and a pink bow in her hair.

Blonde? Of course she was blonde. Thought Mari.

They were sitting outside the cafe. Mari stared at the blonde girl. She looked very familiar.

She pulled out her communicator and dialed a number. A face appeared on the screen, "Mari!" Starfire beamed. "Shh," Mari hushed.

"Oops sorry," Starfire smiled, "What's up?" She asked, "I require your assistance mom. I am the spying on Friend Damien and his date yet she looks very familiar,"

"Can I see her face?" Starfire asked. Mari nodded and moved her communicator to show her mother Damien and his date. Her mother broke the glass that she held in hand and her eyes turned a deadly shade of green.

"Woah, What happened?" Nightwing asked as he came into view. "What is the matter mom?" Mari questioned. "That is Kelly, Kitten's daughter," Starfire barked.

Mari's jaw dropped once she she heard that. Kitten's daughter? Was Kelly? The girl the love of her life was seeing? Oh hell no!

"Kori, calm down," Nightwing soothes his wife. He leaned forward and kissed her lips. Kori's eyes turned back to their usual colour and she giggled. Mari cringed, "Mom, dad, this is most inappropriate,"

"Then close the communicator," Nightwing ordered and she deepened the kiss. Mari shut it closed and shivered in disgust. She turned back to the mission at hand.

Spying on Damien and Kelly.

They decided to leave and walk down the path. Mari followed them and they soon arrived at the park.

"I really like you," Kelly said. Damien smiled, "I like you too," he admitted. Mari's heart was broken. She couldn't believe that she had a chance with Damien Wayne, the son of Bat man.

"No, I mean that I really like you. Almost love you even," Kelly confessed. Mari shook her head and flew away. She could not sit there listening to the conversation.

She flew back to the tower and back into her room. She spent two hours in her room moping. Someone knocked on her door. "Enter," She allowed. Into her room came Rora with a worried face.

Even though Rora had to meditate to control her emotions, She could still express her emotions to her friends. She waved, "Hey, Mar." Rora greeted, taking a seat next to her.

"Greeting friend Nightingale," Mari greeted in a very sad voice, very uncharacteristic of the alien princess. "Anything wrong?" Rora asked. Mari plastered on a fake smile, "Everything is well friend. Why would you think it is not?"

Rora raised her eyebrow, "You don't have to fear him. He enjoys your company more than anyone else's. I'll leave you be. Come out and have pizza with us, it will be fun," Rora advised before leaving the room.

Mari thought about it for a while. It would be nice to have pizza. It was better than being sad in her room. She left her room and walked down the hall. She spotted Damien walking her way.

Just act cool. Don't be so suspicious. Thought Mari.

She plastered on a fake smile and waved happily, "Greetings Damien. How was the date," She asked, almost sneering. Almost. He scratched the back of his head, "It was fine. Not what I expected it to be," He admitted.

"It is not what I expected it to be either," She muttered under her breath. "What?" He asked. She waved off the the thought, "I asked how so?" She lied.

"My date told me she liked me. Loved me even," He explained.

Shocker. Thought Mari as she mentally rolled her eyes.

"What did you say to her?" Mari feigned curiosity, already knowing the answer.

"I liked her but I didn't love her. We may have been seeing each other for four months but I don't feel that way for her," He admitted.

Four months?! He has been seeing her for four months?! Thought Mari. Wait! Back up!

"You do not love her?" Mari asked, hiding the excitement in her voice. He shook his head. Mari did a mental victory dance and mentally stuck her tongue out at Kelly.

"I'm in love with someone else," He admitted with a blush. "Do I know this person?" Mari asked, hopefully.

He nodded, "Yeah, You know her so well. She is beautiful, funny, smart and just plain amazing," He said. A smile crept up her face. A real smile this time.

She stepped closer, "She must be wondrous," He stepped closer, "She is," He smiled. She leaned forward, "I must meet her," He leaned forward as well, "I think you have,"

Just as their lips touched, they heard a voice and it made them spring apart, "Yo, Nightbird, Nightfire, your pizzas are getting cold," Konnor yelled.

"I'll be right there," Damien growled. Konnor walked out quickly. "I... uh, pizza. Goodbye Damien," Mari said quickly as she flew away from him and into the kitchen where all her friends were eating pizza.

"Mari, come sit here," Rora ordered. Mari complied and sat next to her best friend. She shoved a warm slice of cheese pizza into her mouth.

"So, You guys kissed," Rora asked mentally. Mari nearly choked on her pizza. Nearly. "How did you know?" She asked mentally.

"I was walking out of my room when I saw it. I decided to leave and teleported here," Rora explained mentally. "How was it?"

"It was the amazing," She sighed mentally, "It is even greater now that I can stop wishing that I was better,"
