Sienna's life was going fine until the letter arrived.

As the lavish white car pulled up to her large ivory house, Sienna's thoughts were scattered. She was worried about the Test, which was to occur the day after her 17th birthday. Her birthday was in 3 weeks.

"Miss? We have arrived." The chauffeurs voice snapped her out of her jumbled thoughts. She gathered her school bag, as her butler, Peter, opened the door.

"Thank you, Peter" She mumbled as she walked up the pathway, and into her posh house. Everything that she owned and wore was white, as she was part of the highest ranked class, the Exceptionals. The class that was directly below the Exceptionals were the Admirables. They only wore blue and were mostly shop keepers or farmers. The next class was the Adequates who only wore green, and mostly worked for the Exceptionals as servants or chauffeurs. The lowest class were the Deficients, who only wore brown and were bus drivers, garbage men, construction workers and other unwanted jobs.

Sienna walked up the large marble staircase into her enormous bedroom. She glanced at the bedroom across from hers that had remained closed and untouched for 3 years. It had belonged to her sister older Jade before she had died. Jade and Sienna were best friends. Jade was older by 3 years, but that didn't make a difference. The two girls did everything together and were rarely seen without one another.

3 years ago, the day before Jade's 17th birthday, she committed suicide. She had jumped off the 3rd-floor balcony of the house, and Sienna found her body the next morning. The funeral was a quiet affair, as it was unheard of for a daughter of one of the highest ranked families of the Exceptionals to commit suicide. Her parents told the press that Jade had died of a rare illness that was incurable because they didn't want to cause any ripples.

Ever since then, Sienna had been more and more distant from her parents, not that they were around much anyway. They were always at work, or some fancy event with the rest of the Council. When they were home, Sienna tried to keep her distance. She was still angry at her parents because of Jade's death, and because they had lied about it, even though she understood why. Her friends were oblivious, but they wouldn't understand anyway because the biggest problems they had was that their dresses had a stain or their ice melted too quickly in their drink.

Sienna opened the door and walked across the room to open her window. That's when she noticed the letter sitting on her desk.

Sienna's room was all white, with bits of silver. Her bed sheets and pillows were a magnificent alabaster, and her bed frame was silver. The snowy white vanity stalked with makeup and expensive jewels and precious metals. Her gigantic wardrobe was filled with elegant white dresses adorned with pearls, diamonds, moonstones, with hints of silver here and there. Her room was just as she left it this morning, except for the crimson letter with golden writing that now sat on her desk.

As Sienna cautiously made her way to the door, she set slowly set her school bags down on the floor. She reached her shaking hand out to grab the letter and turned it over in her hands. There was no sender name or no return address, only her name, Sienna Boulgaurd, printed in pretty golden cursive. The only other thing on the note was a stamp with the emblem of the exceptionals, a white scale with a silver snake coiled around it. On one end of the scale there was a golden book and on the other end was a royal blue diamond. The scale represented justice, the snake represented rebirth, the book symbolized intelligence, and the diamond symbolized beauty, the four values of the Exceptionals. Sienna opened the envelope delicately and read the golden writing with suspicious eyes.

My dearest Sienna,

Meet us at the spot where you last saw your beloved sister. Come alone. Don't tell anyone or there will be consequences. Midnight.

-The Emerald Dragon

Sienna dropped the note and stumbled back in shock. She knew exactly where she had to go. Her and her sister's secret treehouse in the woods. They had hidden there after another of their parent's fights, hours before Jade committed suicide. She had to go tonight because there is only one other person who knew about the treehouse, and therefore only one person who could have written the letter.

Her sister was alive.

Yay, another chapter! I'm going to try to post a new chapter every day, but it may be difficult because school starts soon! I apologize that the end was a little rushed, but I was running out of ideas. Thanks for reading!
