Hey guys. I'm so so sorry I haven't been updating recently. School has been a little difficult with all the new information and the crap-ton of homework I've been getting. Ill really try to update more often, but for a while it might be a little slow. Thanks for sticking with me!

Clutching the letter to her chest, she gingerly opened the door and stepped out into the crisp night air.

She was ready to see her sister again.

Sienna walked along the pristine white path through her neighborhood towards the Barrier woods that separated the Exceptionals from the Admirables. The only road through the woods was narrow, and frequented by rouge Deficients who robbed and attacked cars who were alone and unprotected. The rest of the woods were thick with unknown plants and animals. Most people, especially Exceptionals stayed far away from the woods, not wanting to get lost or dirty or have anything to do with them. Sienna and Jade were different.

Flashback

When Sienna was 8 and Jade was 11, Sienna caught Jade sneaking out late at night. Jade reluctantly took Sienna with her, in fear Sienna would tell her parents about her sneaking out. Jade had led Sienna through the neighborhoods and to the edge of the woods. Sienna had never been near the woods, let alone about to travel through them, so naturally, she was hesitant and scared, but Jade kept forging on. She dodged stray branches and rocks, tripping every once in a while as she watched in amazement as Jade was light on her feet and didn't trip once. Sienna was in awe when they finally got to the tree house. With its magnificent wood boards and rope ladder, it was a very new thing to Sienna, whose days as an 8-year-old were filled with French lessons and dinner parties. She followed Jade into the tree house and sat down on one of the cushions as Jade lit the candles.

"What is this place?" asked Sienna, curiously.

"This," said Jade, "Is my secret hideout. I come here when Mother and Father fight, when I have a bad day, or when I just need some time alone. You're welcome to come too, whenever you like, as long as your with me."

flashback ends

Sienna shivered at the memory, now scared to go into the woods alone. She stood at the edge for what felt like an eternity, and finally worked up the courage to go through the tall winding trees. She breathed in the sent of what smelt like pine and dirt, but you never know in Barrier Woods. Running through the woods, now almost as expertly as Jade, but not quite. She hadn't gone back to the tree house since the last night she saw Jade, the day before her alleged suicide.

As she climbed up the rope ladder and looked into the tree house it was obvious someone had been there. There were cans of food and water, no dust and new things Sienna had never seen before in the tree house. She panicked a little when she saw candles still lit, and scurried up the ladder to put them out before the tree house burnt down. After she had blown out 2 of the 7, she heard a twig snap, and voices.

"Dammit Bronze, I thought she would come! We wrote that note, put it somewhere she would clearly see it, and its midnight. Where the hell is she?"

As the voice neared the tree house Sienna dove under a pile of blankets and pillows, not wanting to be seen by the strangers. Sienna breathed short, quiet breaths and didn't dare move as she heard the people climb up the rope ladder and set foot in the tree house.

"Topaz, are you kidding me? You didn't blow out the candles. Again. Do I really need to explain to you why that is bad?" A gruff voice said, obviously irritated. A short, perky, girly voice replied.

"Well I'm so sorry Taupe, but I was so excited about finally meeting Sienna and seeing if she would come, but no. She was so rude and decided to not even show up! Like who does that? I hate these kinds of people. I mean I hate all Exceptionals, anyway, they're all so stuck up, and ugl-" Sienna could practically feel the icy glare someone was giving this "Topaz" person as she heard them speak.

"Topaz, I would appreciate if you didn't speak so harshly about my family. Also, try to remember to blow out the candles because, yes, the tree house may burn down, but also someone might find us. Taupe, lighten up a little. Bronze, have you seen Mauve? He was supposed to be back 40 minutes ago with supplies." A short, clear, prominent voice said. Sienna's heart skipped a beat when she realized that was her sister's voice. Still not knowing who these other people were, she stayed hidden just in case.

"Sorry I'm late guys, I got a little held up. But, on the bright side, I got found us a pretty cool river to swim in!" This voice was new. It sounded happy and fun at first, but as she listened closer, it sounded a little sad. Sienna's breath suddenly stopped as she felt a huge mass fall on top of her.

"AHHHHH!" She screamed, her cries muffled by the blankets. The body got off her and started tearing away at the blankets and finally, she was revealed to the group. There were confused, angry, and even murderous looks until the tall, black-haired girl in the center of the room gave a short laugh.

"Sienna, my dearest, we were hoping you would show up!"
