I stood in my walk-in closet, gathering clothes to put into a suitcase.
I was leaving for the company's Winter tour in a little less than 24 hours.
"Hey, You." An all too familiar voice filled the room that only I was in.
"Hey." I responded, not breaking eye contact with the leggings I was folding.
"Tour again?!" He exclaimed, sitting down on my bed.
"Yeah." I said, quite annoyed.
"But weren't you just on tour?" He asked.
"That was Spring tour. This is Winter tour." I say before disappearing into my closet to grab a NIKE hoodie or two.
"But I don't ever see you anymore!" He held out the last syllable of his sentence.
"You know this is my job! I can't just ditch touring! This is my career!" I exclaimed, turning to face him for once that day.
"I get it, but you're always gone!" He pleaded.
"I kind of have to be!" I snapped and started folding multiple pairs of socks and placing them into my suitcase.
"Okay, stop!" He put his hand around my wrist to halt my packing.
"What are you doing?!" I snapped once more.
"I'm trying to stop you! You're going to be gone for the next two months, alright? That's pressure on you, I get that. But the last day I have before you leave, I want you to just chill for once, My Gosh!"
"I am chill!"
"Taylor Grace Kimmel, this isn't chill! Come here."
"No."
"Sit down here, and breathe for second."
"I don't need to breathe!" I brought my focus back to my suitcase.
"YES YOU DO, TAYLOR!" He raised his voice and grabbed my arm, quickly turning me around to face him.
I struggled against his grasp, but he wouldn't let go of my arm.
It wasn't hurting me, no, but it was annoying me that he wouldn't let go.
"CAN YOU EVER CHILL, MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!" He yelled once again.
"Yes I can. I can when I have some space!" I finally got his hand off my arm.
"Fine! Space!" He walked out of the room.
I took a deep breath and stared back down at my almost overflowing suitcase.
Then I heard the door slam shut.
