I sat there watching as Pettimore men got out of the trucks. One knocked on the window. I took my sunglasses off and rolled my window down. "The other side too." A gruff voice said. I noticed Beau and Alex standing off to the side. "Pop the trunk sweetheart." I did as asked. "What are you?" I clamped a hand over Luke's mouth. "I told you to keep quiet." I said.
The guy came back. "What was the rush sweetheart?" He asked. "Oh just going out for a little joy ride." I said. "That your man?" He asked. "Cousin. Was wondering how I could handle a car like this." I said. "He looks pale. Think you can step out of the car?" The guy asked. Luke shook his head. I put the parking break on and got out.
I closed the door and leaned against the car. I then knew that Alex and Beau both were shocked it was me. They definitely kept their mouths shut. "So what's a pretty little thang like you doing out here?" He asked. "Like I said I was getting use to being behind the wheel of my new Charger." I said harshly. He looked like an older version of Josh.
He gripped my jaw. "I'd watch that little mouth." He warned. "That's just what Josh said last Monday." I smarted off. "Then him and I went and had dinner last night." "So your the one he took to eat and have a little fun." He said. "Why do you care?" I asked. "Because he's my baby brother." Oh crap this should be fun! A hint of playfulness slipped into my eyes. "If he's your baby brother and he has four brothers which one would you be?" I asked.
"The one that's going to tell him to make sure you watch your mouth around certain people." He said. "I suggest you get back in that car and drive slower or else it won't be the Pettimores coming after ya." He warned. I nodded as he let my jaw go. I got back into the driver seat as he made the truck blocking the path move. "Oh and one more thing. Don't play chicken with a Pettimore either. That's how some people lose certain things." He said before walking away.
I slowly pulled away from him. Then once I reached the road I turned right. After a few seconds of silence I heard Luke sigh like he was letting go of the breath he was holding. "Your crazy cous." He said. "I told you it was a Pettimore boy." I said. "It's Josh Pettimore. They all see him like a little brother. I can't believe you are with him." He said. "Oh and this Friday he and I are going to have dinner again." I said.
"S***." He muttered once again. I pulled up to the house and parked the car. Then got out and walked into the house.

I walked into the house seeing all of my brothers sitting around talking with mom and dad. "Hey Josh how big of a smart mouth does that girl have?" Jordan asked. "Why?" I asked. He chuckled. "She was running around in a black Dodge Charger this afternoon." He said still chuckling. Are you kidding me? "As long as she wasn't going down Copperhead Road I'm fine." I said. "She thought bout it." Johnny said.
"But she still didn't." I said. "Nope. Went on Big Dry." Jason said. Great my brothers have finally met her before I could introduce her. I grabbed a shower before crashing on my bed sleeping.
