I slowly walked to my first hour. He knew we had first hour together so why he didn't just say first hour I don't know. It's a chance to get away from Jackson this weekend. And to see how the other side of Josh lives. I slowly approached the door and walked in. Right beside my seat was Josh and his two cousins. One sitting in front of him and the other sitting beside him.
I sat down in my seat and pretty much slumped. "It's first hour." He whispered. "Not until the last bell rings starting it." I said. "I'd still watch the mouth." He said. The teacher entered as the final bell rang. "Morning class. Get your notes out and copy the board." Our government teacher said. Man senior year is rough so far. Barely started and here we go.
"Better answer." Josh said. "Is there a short cut on Big Dry Run?" I asked. He smirked. "If you ever go down it again without a Pettimore you're a dead person walking." He said. I shifted in my seat. "So your answer?" He asked. "It's a Friday. I'm always free." I told him. "I've got nothing better to do than sit at home and twiddle my thumbs."
Once class was over I jumped up exiting. A throat cleared behind me. "It's a yes or no sweetheart." He said pulling me back closer to him. "It's an indicator of a yes." I said. "Still a solid yes or no." He said. Oh my gosh is he serious? "Yes." I spat. Then walked faster. I was then tugged back. "Nope. Not goin' anywhere." He said. I silently groaned before releasing my bag.
There's more than one way to lose him. Once I got to second hour I sat down in my seat. Then he came in and set my bag next to his seat. He's definitely testing me. I finally got up and grabbed my bag. Not before he pulled me into the seat in front of him. "Now do you wanna tell me your answer more calmly?" He asked. I took a deep breath knowing I was harsh to him. "Yes. I'll go to dinner with you Friday night." I said.
"How long can you stay out on Fridays?" He asked. "It's just my mom at night. My dad and brother aren't usually home." I said. "Then it sounds like we could be out all night without a care." He said. I shifted in my seat. "Of course whatever your not comfortable with I won't do." He said. "Heard that one before." I said. "Obviously you've never heard that from a Pettimore." He whispered.
I knew from just watching deals between Pettimores and other people that they keep their word unless you cross them. Hearing that from him was just like hearing my dad and John talking about deals. John Lee would put up an offer for my dad and would say if you do the job right I will pay you this much. And if dad didn't comply he didn't get a quarter of the money or none at all.
This was John Lee the third's youngest son. He keeps his word like his father. "So if something comes up and I can't make it..." I started. "It will just have to be rescheduled to the next Friday sweetheart." He said. Hearing that he'd reschedule if something happens, like if I get sick, have to go out of town, or even something happens within my neighborhood and my mom says no going out he'd still reschedule.
"Not thinking of backing out yet are ya?" He asked. "Nope." I said.

He asked me first thing this morning if I could meet him by his truck after school. I agreed to it. At lunch I told my best friend I'd be getting a ride from someone else. When she asked I texted her the answer after telling her not to freak out. Of course not possible. Everyone around us just looked at us oddly. Once lunch was done I went to the only class I have Alex his cousin by himself.
Alex ditched the seating chart and sat next to me. Then in the next class I had both Josh and Beau. The whole time they talked and whispered about something I could care less about. About halfway through my work one of my earbuds was pulled out of my right ear. "I'll meet ya by the tailgate once the bell rings after our last class." He said. Could he have said something like that this morning?
Now in this class he has me sitting in front of him. It's another way I can keep writing about him without him knowing.
I sat her in front of me to be able to watch her. Jackson is looking hostile he has been looking that way since Tuesday. She must have said something to him to make him leave her alone for the weekend and tick him off. Last week I heard in another class from Beau that he was wanting to f*** her after taking her down Copperhead Road. He was the one that almost died on Roan Road last Friday night.
If I had ran into him instead of her he wouldn't be sitting in class today. I then would have buried him in the pond with a few other bodies. After hearing her father curse at her and use the name Christina then Blaze I knew he was trying to get her out of the house. She was smarter than him to leave. Her brother had hightailed out and was caught an hour later.
She locked herself in her room, then closet. When Michael and I went into the back bedroom looking for her brother I saw the closed door. I then had to break into the room to see if her brother had locked them both inside. After finding just her in her room I decided to talk to her. When my dad called my name I quickly asked her and told her when to answer before leaving.
I'm sitting behind her writing about her without her looking over her shoulder at me. She's too beautiful to be with any kind of scum from this town.
