Chapter 5: Charity Event

Chapter 5

Athena's POV

So, I guess my dad is making it up to me after all this tme that he was in captivity, but I didn't blame him for that. We've been working on his suit for almost a week and a half now. Today marks Day 11!

"Day 11, test 37, configuration 2.0. For lack of a better option, Dummy is still on fire safety. If you douse me again, and I'm not on fire, I'm donating you to a city college" he said to Dummy. I laughed, poor Dummy still.

Today is the day to see if the suit can finally fly, he started nice and easy at 1% thrust capacity, and he lifted off the floor!

"Yeah dad!!" I said cheering from my spot. He was n the air for only a couple of seconds, then came back down.

"Please don't follow me around with it, either, 'cause I feel like I'm gonna catch on fire spontaneously. Just stand down! If something happens, then come in" he was talking to Dummy again. 

Now he went up a few notches to see if 2.5 thrust capacity was better. 

It was more powerful, but I started to get nervous when he was flying away from his testing spot to around our cars, while Dummy and the recorder followed his moves. 

"Um dad, not the cars!" I said. 

"Could be worse! Could be worse! We're fine! Okay" he said finally going back to the testing spot, "Yeah, I can fly" 

Yes! We did it! 

Now the whole suit was put together on my dads body, ready to test it outside. 

"Nina, stand by the monitors" he said 

"Are you sure its ready dad, Jarvis said--"

"Like I told Jarvis, sometimes you gotta run before you can walk, lets do this"

I was going to stand by the monitors, so everything my dad sees,  I see, also everything he says, along with Jarvis too. 

"Ready! Three...Two...One!" 

And he flew at rocket speed out of the garage. 

"Handels like a dream!" I heard him say and saw his view from Malibu above, beautiful. 

"Higher!" he told Jarvis.

"Dad! It can't be that safe--" I spoke through the bluetooth.

"Records are ment to be broken, come on higher!' 

He was so high up in the sky, and the temperature was gettng colder as he went. 

"We're iced up! Jarvis! Jarvis?"

"Dad!"

I lost his view, the suit froze up. 

"Try to break the ice!" I said, he must be free falling right now, "Dad!!" 

Suddenly, I got his view back up on the monitors, he managed to break the ice off, I let a sigh of relief out and he flew back to the house safely.

"Kill power" he said and the next thing I knew he came down three stories and landed right on one of our cars, and dummy sprayed him. 

Now, we working on the icing problem for the suit. I really wasn't paying much attention because Harry texted me. Harry is the son of another CEO that my dad is friends with.

"Use Titanium alloy" I said out loud as I kept texting. It was just an idea for the suits metal to keep it from getting frozen. 

"Genius!" My dad said, "Jarvis, did you make a note of that, let's use it"
