When Calum, was 7, he ran to the fence that separated his house from next door he saw a boy sitting on a box, looking tired.

"I'm Calum" he shouted and Ashton looked at him smiling.

"I'm Ashton, I'm new" and Calum couldn't stop smiling the whole day because he had always wanted a new friend.

"How old are you?" Ashton asked when Calum climbed the fence and walked over to him grinning.

"I'm seven and you?"

"Nine" and Ashton didn't stop smiling for the rest of the day either.

"I like your eyes, they shine like the light in my bathroom" Calum told Ashton who laughed loudly.

"Wanna be friends?" Calum put his hand out as he had seen his dad do all the time, when he met new people.

"Sure," and they shook hands, "you play?" and Ash pointed at a soccer ball.

"I play" Calum puffed his chest proudly and Ashton laughed.

"I bet I could beat you" and that's how they spent the first day together and Ashton liked having a friend in his new town and Calum liked having Ashton as his friend.

"How much do you think Cal will end up dating Ash" Calum's dad joked with Ashton's dad as the two boys kicked the soccer ball in Ashton's backyard waiting for the barbeque to be ready.

"A couple thousand" Mali-koa put in and Ashton blushed at her, he was infatuated with her at the time. Calum kicked the ball at her, because he was jealous, and she squealed angrily.

"Don't be mean, Calum" his mum laughed and Ashton's mum rolled her eyes.

"Boys" is all she said looking at the dads with a smirk.
