Ash's POV
I smirked when they called out my name. I walked slowly out of the tunnel, leaving the crowd unbreathing. I could tell that the Traitors where scared out of their wits. Raichu followed behind me. I slowly reached up and pulled my hood back, revealing my face to human civilization once again, revealing my face to those I called my friends, to those who turned their backs on me when I needed them most."And on the Green Platform, welcome Serena Yvonne, once Kalos Queen, now the Kalos Champion!" There were roars of support from the stands, but I could sense that the Traitors were gloating, and some in the crowd pitied me for being pitted against such a strong opponent.
"Red Platform has the first call! "
"Greninja, prepare for battle! " Greninja became my most trusted partner after the betrayal, and our Bond Phenomenon is stronger than ever.
"Sylveon, time to shine! " Serena sent out Sylveon no doubt to try and put me at a type disadvantage. Well, type no longer matters to me now.
"Greninja, Double Team, then go in with Extreme Speed and use Aerial Ace! " All this was carried out in less than twenty seconds. Sylveon collapsed and lay unmoving.
"Sylveon is unable to battle! Green Platform please send out your next Pokemon! "
"Pangoro, your turn! " Again, trying to get a type advantage.
"Greninja, Aerial Ace! " Greninja charged in, kicking and punching Pangoro. One particularly fierce kick sent Pangoro crashing into the arena wall and slumped down against it. He didn't get up.
"Pangoro is unable to battle! Green Platform please send out your last Pokemon! " Serena was growling at me, fists clenched and breathing heavily. Needless to say, she was angry beyond words.
"Delphox, it's all up to you. " Her tone was low, dangerous. Not that I was afraid, but she could get herself seriously hurt if she can't control herself.
"Greninja, you did well, return for now. " I recalled Greninja. "Serperior,
Standby for battle! ""And now, Ash Ketchum confuses all of us by substituting a Pokemon with a type advantage, for one with a disadvantage. "
"I don't need a type advantage to win. " I say this loud enough for the whole arena to hear.
"Delphox, Fire Blast! "
"Dodge it. Is that the best you can do? " I taunt her.
"Fine, Flame Charge, repeatedly! "
"Match it with Agility! "
Finally, she had enough. "Fire Pledge! "
"Remember Trip's Serperior? Do the same! " She wove between the columns of fire, and safely out. "Now, Frenzy Plant! "The vines whacked Delphox twice, and she, like my Pignite years ago, collapsed, and didn't get up.
"Delphox is unable to battle. Ash Ketchum wins the match! "
I smirked, turned around, and left, ignoring Serena when she dropped to her knees, ignoring the stares of the Traitors.
As I was leaving the Pokemon Centre, someone suddenly grabbed my arm and yanked me into a side corridor. Once I turned, I saw a familiar, purple haired Trainer glaring at me. "Paul? "
"Yes, now you'd better explain where you were and what happened. "
"Umm, not here. " I grabbed his arm and dragged him out and to our tree house. "In there, now. "
Paul's POV
"So I suppose Ash brought you here?" Aeria was right in front of me, meditating with Gallade, Gardevoir and Lucario.
"Kinda. " Still speechless at seeing her again.
"Could you move from the entrance? I need to get in, you know! " Ash was yelling from the ground.
"So what did you do to him? "
"Demanded an explanation, obviously. "
"And...? "
"He dragged me here. "
"So you want to know what happened? "
I nodded, unsure of whether she could see it or not, considering that her eyes were closed, but she responded. "Well, long story short, the bunch of them decided that he was too weak for them and betrayed him. So we've been training on Mt. Silver ever since. "
"And, I'm back to get revenge. " Ash had joined us somewhere in the middle of our conversation.
"Can I help? " I ask, sincerely, actually meaning it. Aeria doesn't seem surprised, but Ash sure did.
"You can help by defeating every one of Ash's rivals and 'friends ' you battle. And humiliate them as much as possible. Except for Trip and Cameron, of course. "
"That I can do. " I knew why she told me to spare Trip and Cameron. They weren't there, and neither was I.
So we were friends once again. To be honest, they were the first to actually try to be friendly towards me. I lost my parents when I was three, and I've been raised by my brother, Reggie, ever since. I closed myself off, locked my emotions away, and stayed away from others. Aeria, somehow, had started to pick that lock with her words, had somehow showed me that she knew what I was feeling, and much more. And somehow, I knew, we were the keys to each other.
