Ash's POV
I woke with a start to something pawing at my chest. Blearily opening my eyes, I saw something orange and yellow sitting on my chest." Rai! " A Raichu? What the hell was going on? Wait, isn't this my Pikachu?
" What? " I heard Aeria say from beside me.
" Pikachu? Is that you? But......" I trailed off.
" Rai! Raichu! " He said, nodding. " Chu! " He then pointed. I followed his gaze. Aeria was hugging a Servine, and I recognized her as the Servine Aeria had in Unova, evolved from her Snivy. As their friendship was restored, Servine glowed blue. She grew in size, lengthening, and when the light faded, a Serperior, more majestic than any I have ever seen, stood in her place.
" Serperior... " Aeria gasped in wonder. Serperior lowered her head and nuzzled her.
And at that exact moment, Raichu decided to shock me. Reminder of the old times, I suppose.
Aeria's POV
We headed out of the tree house after Ash recovered from Raichu shocking him, and made our way to Viridian City. In a side street, however, history repeated itself. Someone ran straight into me, and as I fell, my hood slipped. " Trip? "
" Oh hi Aeria. " He got up. " I heard from Cameron that you were here. "
Ash removed his hood as well and came over. " Do you know anywhere hidden around here? There's a Plasma grunt chasing me. "I quickly put my hood back on then motion to the two of them. Ash put his hood back on, and the two of us led him back to our hideout.
" Did your Pokemon make this? " Trip looked around, impressed.
" Yup. " I said.
" Okay, so what exactly happened for you to disappear like that? " Trip looked at Ash.
" Uh, long story short, the bunch of them decided to betray him, telling him to give up on his dream. " I answered for Ash. Even though it wasn't targeted at me, I could tell that it traumatized him. Until now, I still remember it like yesterday.
I followed behind an over enthusiastic sixteen year old as he dashed down the street towards his house. " Wait up! " I yelled at him.
He stopped in front of the door, and knocked. When his mother, Delia Ketchum opened the door, she did not say anything, hug him, or even smile. She just walked back inside. Ash and I followed, not knowing what was about to happen. We walked into the living room and found almost all of our travelling companions there.
" What are all of you doing...? " Ash asked, puzzled, shocked and confused.
" Well, we think, and your mother agrees, that you should give up your dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. " Brock said, in a casual, throwaway tone.
" What?! Why? " Ash reacted as he should. No one, especially not someone like him, would like someone else to tell you to give up your dream.
" Because you are weak. You should know by now, having taken part in six leagues and losing all of them. " Even Serena. " Come on, Aeria, you know that we are right, what are you still sticking with him for. He isn't good enough for you. "
" Oh? So first you betray him, then try to get me on your side to make it hurt more? In your dreams. " I really didn't know or expect them, of all people, to do this kind of thing. " True friends don't leave each other. "
" Come on Pikachu, let's go. " But Pikachu did the unexpected. He jumped off Ash's shoulder and onto Max's.
I swept the room one more time, making a mental note of the ones who were there, then grabbed Ash's arm and pulled him out of the room before he could do anything too drastic.
Ash ran, with me behind him, to Professor Oak's lab. Once inside, we explained to the Professor and Gary what happened. It was an understatement to say that they were angry. They seemed more than furious. Professor Oak allowed me to override our six Pokemon limit and carry unlimited Pokemon. For both of us, many Pokemon decided to leave, and join the traitors. Thankfully, I left most of my Arvino Pokemon at my Gym.
Then we left, disappearing for ten years......
Ash and I recounted this story to Trip, and needless to say, he was angry. But we told him the same thing we told Cameron, and he kinda calmed down after a while. He decided to stay here for the rest of the day, and we spent that time, catching up with each other, laughing at fond memories, teasing Ash about how he was still as dense as ever, and getting Aura Spheres thrown at us.
It was the best time we've had in ten years, and one of the best times we would have for a while.
