Chapter 29: I miss you

Recap.

We wait until Derricks done." says the man.

"What does he even want with her?"

"I don't know to be honest, she isn't much is she." the man says laughing. "I just got told to hold her until the time was right.

"Aw princess you scared?" coos Karl. I sqirm about but the man brings me to a holt. I bring my head and smack it into the man's earning a grunt from him. Maybe I shouldn't have done that cause the next thing I knew I saw a fist coming towards my face and everything went black.

Chapter 29: I miss you (Caycee's P.O.V)

"Mommy Mommy!" I called out to my adoptive mom. 

"Hey sweetie, you been a good girl for Mrs Watts?" She says as she picks me up. 

"She's been an angel we had a lot of fun, even made some cupcakes didn't we Caycee" Miss Watts says.

"Yeah mommy and they taste really really really really good!" I exclaimed.

"How good?" She says teasing me and poking me on my side.

"Really really really reallly really good!" She lets out a small laugh and takes the box of cupcakes from Mrs Watts and we leave and head to the car. 

"Listen here sweetie, when we get home I want you to go to your room and play with your toys okay?" She says whiles tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. 

"Okay mommy, can you read me a story before bed as well?" I ask giving her my best grin. She was always good at doing the voices, dad couldn't do it like her. As we were driving along, on our way home, I turned to look out the window. It was a nice day, the sun was out perfect weather to play outside or go to the park. 

When we reached home we got out of the car but before we went inside mommy stopped and kneeled down in front of me. "I love you sweetie, you're the best thing that happened to me you know that right?" I giggled and hug her. "I do, I love you too."

I did as she said and went to my room. I got out my Nintendo DS and starting play nintendogs. After a while of playing I got bored and decided to go downstairs. I easily crept down the stairs but stopped halfway because I could hear shouting.

Mom was angry and upset. "You're never home and when you are you just hide away in the basement why?!" She exclaimed.

"Cause of that little brat upstairs. All you do is pay attention to her and never me so I may aswell just get out of the way!" Derrick shouted. I never really did like him. "You care about a child that's not even your own than you do about me!"

"You're right I do!"

What mom sad must have made Derrick really angry as he lunged at her, tackling her to the ground. Then he started beating her, he wouldn't stop, he just kept kicking, punching. He kept on going and going and it got to a point where her body became limp and lifeless. I gasped and quickly ran upstairs into my bed and then I heard the footsteps. 

My eyes slowly start to open, the sunlight making me squint. I look around me to find Craig but then I start to remember.

The Resturant.

Going to the bathroom.

The 2 men.

One of them punching me.

Shit.

I take in my surroundings. I'm in what looks like a basement. I quickly get up ignoring the throbbing pain in my head and run to the door. I try the handle but the door is locked.
