Note: HI! OH GOSH IM SO EXCITED TO CONTINUE THIS!! Okay so I'm no longer going to make the plot so random and well, not very plot like. I'm going to actually make things go somewhere, make it interesting.
It's been a while since I last updated (given that I was discontinuing this story), so you may want to read the last couple chapters or so incase you need a reminder of what's happening.

If you don't feel like reading them, here's a recap (skip through this if you want): Luke - Michael and Mikayla's extremely smart yet crude and rudely sarcastic, and not to mention dead "friend"  - has returned, been staying with them for quite some time. He has a son, who looks just like him, named Malekai. Malekai is just barely 2.
Malekai's mother - who neither Michael or Mikayla know, nor does Luke like her - has been murdered and Malekai is missing.
Michael and Mikayla, leaving their daughter with Mikayla's best friend Sara, had gone with Luke to Malekai's house - where his (Malekai's) mom lives - to find clues, to find Malekai. And while searching, they had found a bloody T shirt outside. The shirt belongs to Malekai. Luke became broken inside and vanished. Now he's gone too, and Michael and Mikayla have no idea where he's gone.

Michael and I step through the threshold of our home.

"Do you really think he's. . ." I begin to ask, but my voice trails off. The thought of wondering if a little boy - just barely one or two - is dead is not the most pleasant image to think of.

"Kayla," he sighs as he and I slip our dirty shoes off, "I don't know."

"Well -" I lower my voice to a whisper - given that I've just now realized Sara is still here - "you said you could smell blood."

"I did," he says firmly. "And I followed the scent, and you know where it led us?" He pauses. Then, "To the bloody shirt."

I nod understandably.
"And that's where we hit our dead end." I say.

"Sorry? But what in God's name are you two talking about?" calls a voice.
I turn my head. It's Sara.

I feel all the blood drain from my face.
How much did she hear? Oh gosh, I hope she didn't hear it all! Or else Michael and I have some major explaining to do. . .

"Nothing, Sara," Michael tells her calmly. "Thanks for watching Addie."

I figure playing along right now is the best idea.

"Oh, yeah." I say, sounding fake. Great.

I look up at Michael.
Help me, I think. He only gives me that panicked look that says "I don't know what to do either".

Sara narrows her suspicion filled eyes at us.
"Are you two planning something?" she asks.

"No," I say all too quickly.

Her eyes remain narrowed at us as she crosses her arms.
"I heard something about. . . blood? And -" She looks at Michael. "- you smelling it?"

Michael shakes his head, remaining calm. How he manages to stay calm right now, I do not know.
"You must've heard things wrong. Now, if you don't mind, Kayla and I have important things to discuss," he says, looking at me, then back at Sara.

A smirk grows on her face.
"Is that so?" she says in a teasing tone. "Hm. . . okay. . . I'll leave to two to "discuss" things."
With that said, she slips pass us and shuts the door behind her.
