There is darkness all around me. I feel chains on my wrists, and a heavy weight chaffs my neck. A blood curtling scream echos around me, in the darkness. Then I feel some kind of water against my shins.
I look down to see what it is. It looks like some kind of red substance, I lift my legs up and down to test its properties. Its sticky, very sticky and thick too! It kind of feels familiar... I think for a while and then it hits me!
Blood! there is blood Everywhere! I-I have to get out!
I try running but the heavy liquid is making it hard, the broken chains around my wrists aren't helping either. I try to look ahead to see where I'm going but I notice that I am blocked! I'm blocked by some metal bars. I turn around to go the other direction but they're there too! The bars are every way I turn.
I stop and just stare into the endless void.
My legs feel weighed down by the blood that splashed up when I had frantically ran to find a way out of the darkness. The chains feel heavier and heavier by my side as I stand there in despair. I'm about to fall in defeat down into the heavy liquid that surrounds my ankles, when I see something out of the corner of my eye.
I turn my whole body, sloshing my legs grogley through the blood. A pair of eyes stare at me through the bars, glaring. Soon more start popping up in the dark void, each one cold and unforgiving. Suddenly I hear voices ring out through the darkness.
"Monster!" They yell "Murderer! Child killer! Beast!"
Name after name they cry out, none are nice.Hot tears roll down my chin as I cry out to them to stop, but they never do.
My voice goes hoarse as I call out over and over into the dark void. I cover my ears and close my eyes to try to block out the voices, but even that doesn't work.
I fall down into the lake of blood, silently crying into my knees. I cry and cry and cry as the voices yell at me through the darkness.
As I am crying I feel movement in the thick substance surrounding me. A bang rings out through the voices as something hits the metal bars that surround me. I wipe the tears from my eyes and look towards where the sound came from.
There is something floating in the endless lake of blood. It seems pale and lifeless compared to everything else in this dark abyss. The broken chains jingle as I stand to get a closer look at whatever it is that floated towards me. As I stand I recognise the object immediately.
It's a 9-year-old's dead body, a girl. her head is twisted back, the sure sign of a broken neck. Her arms lay at odd angles and there are scars all over her body. As I am staring at her the voices start getting louder and louder. I see another body drift towards the cage, it's a boys this time. His throat is slashed, and chains surround his wrists. A silver metal collar adorns his neck.
The tears start to fall again as I look to find more dead bodies are streaming through the darkness, each more mangled than the last. The grotesque body's belong to children. All of them are older than five, but younger than ten. Some wear copper collars while others wear silver, only a few have a gold one, like the one I wear.
The voices are even louder now as I fall back to the ground in despair. I can hardly hear my own thoughts, I try to scream but the voices drown it out. I cry, and I cry, and I cry. I cry alone in the darkness, and no one's here to help. I cry so much I don't even notice that the voices have quieted down, there is almost none left now. I look up from my huddled state, to see what is going on.
The glaring eyes are gone, there are none left in sight. There's no longer any metal bars surrounding me, and the blood is gone as well! I turn around to look behind me, and find Papa Louie standing out there in the darkness.
I run towards him "Papa Louie!" I yell out happily. I knew he would save me!
As I get closer he seems to notice me, and clear disgust reads across his face.
"Papa Louie?" I say as I walk closer, this is so unlike him.
Once I am almost right next to him his arm shoots out and grabs me by my gold collar. My broken chains jingle in the air as he lifts me up from the ground. Now his face is only inches from mine, and hate splashes upon his face
He spits in my face, "Murderer" he yells. The word repeats in my ear, over and over and over. Hot tears roll down my cheeks.
Then Papa Louie drops my limp body and walks away, leaving me crying alone in the darkness once again.
