Chapter 6: Look At Me Now

When I woke up Ethan was already awake, but still next to me. "Good morning." He said in his sleepy voice. God, that voice was sexy. "Good morning." I smiled at him. "Good morning Kayla." I heard mister Smith say. "Hi." I got up and glared at him. "Ethan, can I borrow your pocketknife?" "Sure." Ethan gave it to me, but mister Smith took it away from me.

"Women can't handle a knife. You should go get some coconuts. We need real men to do the real jobs." Did this guy want me to hate him? "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" I yelled at him. "Dude, you are so stupid. Like, Kayla can do more than you." "You should mind your own business, kid."

"You know what? No." Ethan said confidently. "What?" "You heard me. I am not standing here while you disrespect such a beautiful woman. I don't care how you have been raised, but we don't disrespect women."

"Where are your manners?" "Where are YOUR manners? I MEAN, YOUR KEEP LOOKING AT KAYLA LIKE YOU CAN FUCK HER ANYTIME. GUESS WHAT? YOU CAN'T, SO STOP." Wow. "Thank you, Ethan."I said, hugging him. "Someone had to say it. If he does anything, I'm never far away."

It was probably 15:00 when Grayson and I were walking with wood for the campfire. "So, everyone has been talking about leaving the camp and going further into the woods." "Yeah, I heard it. I'm still scared, what if there are other people?" "Don't worry about it. I'm 99 percent sure that no one else lives here." but there is this 1%...

When we got to the campfire, we placed the wood in the fire. I walked over to Sharon. I barely knew her, and if we were going to survive together we had to get along." Hey, Sharon." She looked at me. "Oh, hey Kayla." "What are you doing?" I am making a weapon from a shell. They are very small." She showed me one. "Wow, they are very sharp." "Yeah. Here, you can have it." She gave it to me. "Really?" "Yeah, I feel like you're going to need it." "Thank you so much! Now I finally have my own knife!" "It's just a knife." "Not for me. Now I can finally kill my own animals. Wow, that sounded dark." I thanked her again and put the knife in my pocket. I have to keep it till a life threatening situation.

Soon it was time for me to eat something. I had an idea. I took off my shoelaces and dug in some wet sand for a larva. I got a stick and attached the rope to the stick. I tied my larva to the rope. Then I swam far in the sea with a backpack, waiting for a fish to bite.

I was waiting for about 10 minutes when suddenly, I felt something pull. At first, the pull was weak. Then it got very strong. After a while of pulling each other, the fish got tired. I then pulled it all the way to the land. That fish drained me, I was very tired and laid down in the sand. I saw Ethan running towards me. "KAYLA! KAYLA! ARE YOU OKAY?!" "Yes." I pointed weakly to the dried fish in the sand. "DID YOU CATCH THAT?!" I nodded. "I wanted to show mister Smith that women can do just the same as men." "Well, you showed him. Come on. Let's cook this fish." Ethan picked me up bridal-style and I picked up the fish. Look at me now, mister Smith.

Zasha's POV
Kayla has been missing for three days now. A lot of people think that they are dead, but I don't believe them. I KNOW Kayla is still alive. She wouldn't give up that easily. We always talked about not giving up, always pushing through, no matter what. She would get home. It might take a day, it might take a month, it might take a year, but she will get home. I can feel it.
Because Kayla was missing, Thomas and I didn't have to go to school. Time for me and Thomas to do some research.

Thomas' POV
I was thinking about Kayla, when Zasha stormed through the door without knocking. "I NEED YOUR HELP!" "First of all, breathe. Now you can talk to me." "Listen, Kayla didn't give up. I know it." "So, what do you think we should do?" I asked. "We need to do research about Kayla's plane."

I decided to put in other people's POV, so it wouldn't be JUST the island. ;D
