The morning after was a gloomy, grey, cloudy and rainy morning; and to add to that, I woke up so early! The morning was really just not a nice morning to be honest.

"Morning farmer." Nicole said in her raspy morning voice.

"Explain exactly how I am a farmer? Because I don't catch your drift." I laughed in response.

"Because you wake up so damn early. People could even think you're preparing to do the morning farm duties." She laughed as she explained-clearly proud of her joke.

"Haha, very funny." I replied.

"So, what do you wanna do this morning?"

"Hmm... maybe eat for starters. Then chill or something I guess"

She nodded in agreement and we both rolled ourselves out of the warm covers and started heading to the kitchen.

Normally, her house had all sorts of food for breakfast-from the cereals, to the breads and then to the pastries. I went with the simple option for my meal to start the day with and decided on having two sliced of golden brown toast smeared with the sweetest mixed berry jam I could find in their house.

"Yo man! You guys have nothing else but soy milk honestly?" I whined
"Nahhh. Sorry." Nicole said happily as she laughed at my situation. "Cool people drink soy milk." She added proudly and I just clicked and laughed in response.

About an hour after we had eaten and talked for a century, my mum called me summoning me back home.

"Who was that?" Nicole asked just as I had finished on the phone.

"It's my mum. She wants me to go home now for some strange reason."

"Well, did she sound mad?"

"I wouldn't say so. She sounded normal."

"Ahh then no big deal love." Nicole smiled. "Now, go get your shit and get out of my house."

"I think I have an idea. You should become a royal jester because you're so funny." I said sarcastically and stood up to put my shoes on.

"BYE!" I screamed in her face.

"You don't have to scream you know." She laughed whilst she planted a kiss on my cheek and gave me a hug goodbye.

"Now if that kiss could be somewhere other than my cheek, I'd contemplate not screaming in your face." I smirked leaving her lost for a comeback and closed the door behind me after my next few steps.

The compound on this sort of a morning was so... boring. It consisted of large clouds of after rain fog and a deserted compound in general. Aside from the fact that the entire place was filled with cars because no one wanted to leave their houses in this cold. I on the other hand, was walking straight through the cold, the fog and the quiet on a quest to get back home. The compound was so big that I would always imagine myself having to go through some great adventure just to get from point A to B.

"Heyyyy mum!" I said as I opened the unlocked door and stepped into the house.

"Come on, go shower and look pretty. We're going for lunch."

Phew! I thought to myself before I responded because I wasn't sure if she was mad at me seeing as she called me and told me I needed to go home immediately a few minutes ago.

"Where? And Okay. Let me go change." I replied after my brief moment of silence. "You look really nice by the way." I added with a warm smile. She was wearing a pear of black jeans with rips on the knees and the classic, clean white adidas stan smiths that she loves to wear practically on a daily basis. The shirt she was wearing was this plain olive green, long sleeved blouse that flowed really well with her body and was such a nice dark shade that it complimented her skin and almost blended into the darkness of her jeans. On top of that, she had the sweet scent of candy as she walked down the corridor leaving a trail of her scent diffusing into the air.
